Women Engineers (WE) programme by TalentSprint and Google- Fourth cohort registrations are now open!

TalentSprint has launched the fourth batch of the Women Engineers (WE) programme in collaboration with Google. The programme is specifically designed to prepare enterprising and aspiring female students from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds for high-growth tech careers.

Despite the fact that the number of women working in technology is gradually increasing, there is still a dearth of diversity in the industry. Women make up only 29% of the IT workforce today, with the majority of them being under 30 years old. WE’s main goal is to help ambitious and aspiring female students from all walks of life prepare for high-growth digital employment.

The WE programme is a two-year curriculum with a completely hands-on approach offered by the greatest professors. Every year, the programme recruits talented female engineers from throughout the world and teaches them self-learning and collaborative skills. 

The registrations for the fourth batch are now open. Last date to apply for the programme is 15th March 2022. If you wish to apply for the programme, please visit TalentSprint WE programme page.

Fourth cohort of WE programme: What are the selection process and schedule?

The fourth batch aims to identify and prepare 250 first-year female students to be globally competitive software engineers. Every selected student will receive a fully-funded 100% tuition scholarship and a stipend of Rs 100,000 as part of the programme.

Here are a few important dates and facts about the fourth cohort of the programme, 

  • The last date to submit the online application is 15th March 2022
  • The online selection process will be carried out from 8th – 27th March 2022.
  • After the registration, you will undergo an online assessment which will assess you on your Aptitude, English language and technical skills. The selection process consists of an online aptitude test, English language test, coding test and interview.
  • Enrollment and onboarding will be on 28th and 29th March 2022. If shortlisted, you will have to enrol within two days.
  • There is no programme fee involved to enrol in the programme.

Commenting on the announcement of the next cohort, Shiv Venkataraman, VP/GM, Google said “For tech to truly fulfil the promise of levelling the playing field and creating universally relevant solutions, the representation of women in tech organizations is key. Eligibility criteria to enrol in the programme

The programme is open to talented female engineering students from non-elite universities who want to pursue a successful tech career and help shape the future of the globe. And if you meet all of the following requirements, you will be qualified to apply for the programme,

  • Women students currently in the first year of engineering
  • Degrees: B.E., B.Tech
  • Streams: IT, CS, EEE, ECE, or equivalent
  • Candidates must have over 70% in both X and XII

Women Engineers (WE) programme: A glimpse into the previous cohorts

The program’s first three cohorts were extremely popular, with over 55,000 applicants competing for 500 slots. WE graduates have been placed in over 50 global IT organisations, with an average pay of three times the industry median and the highest compensation of 54 lakhs per year. This proves that the WE programme is a game-changing platform for young female students who want to launch themselves into profitable worldwide careers.

“This program has been life-changing for me”, says A.V.L.Harshitha, an alumna of the WE programme. Talking about her experience in the programme, she adds, “it helped me to dream big and realise my capabilities. The WE Program has helped me become more confident and come out of my imposter syndrome.” After the completion of the program, she has got career opportunities from Oracle and TCS.

Along with preparing students for the workforce, the programme also prepared them for future opportunities. “The WE programme has helped me a lot in shaping my career, from cracking internship interviews to landing a full-time offer,” says Radhika Agarwal, WE programme alumni.

“From the beginning, the WE programme assisted me in bridging the gap between a student and a professional.” “I’m a more confident person who doesn’t hesitate to step outside of my comfort zone, and this programme has definitely changed my career path for the better,” says Tanya Mittal, a WE programme alumna who received internship opportunities with Goldman Sachs.

Every year, the WE programme brings together talented female engineers from all over the country to develop their skills as world-class software engineers. The fourth batch of the programme, like the previous three, should change the skilling and training of female engineers in order to encourage them to contribute to the field of technology.
