AISECT is a leading Social Enterprise who works in the area of skill development. As NSDC training partner, AISECT has been assigned with four clusters in two states Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh for setting up of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras (PMKK). PMKK is a skill development initiative by MSDE which aims to standardize the skilling process by establishing Kaushal Kendras. Team NSN interacted with their trainers and they shared their stories with us.

Mrs. Aarti Sangewar, Self- employed trainer, AISECT PMKK Durg

“I am an M.A in Sociology. I have been working with AISECT PMKK Durg for the last 3 years. Apart from this, I have more than ten years of real time experience of training Tailoring to the candidates of rural sector.

My journey in PMKK has been very encouraging and motivating for the last 3 years. I  came across many poor women who are in need of money. But they were not able to help themselves. I mobilised them and informed them about PMKVY 2.0 Scheme, launched by the Central Govt. to make India Skill Ready and Industry Ready. This has eventually made me more positive in life.

I have been connected to this field since my early age but I used to work on normal sewing machines which were easily available at home. Life was going normal but leading it was tough. Then, I associated with AISECT where I was introduced to the Industrial machines also. The PMKK in Durg gave me the opportunity to enhance my skill on Electronic Sewing Machines.

During my working tenure, I have been supported by my staff and Center Head. The environment here is very homely and the centre members are like family members. I am very obliged to work with such people who have always been generous and supportive.

I have gained a lot of experience and knowledge and I am still learning and upgrading my skills daily along with the trainees of my classes who are getting self-employed  and self-dependent. This has been an encouraging experience which has made me achieve exceptional identity in my society.”

Ms. Malti Tandon, Assistant Electrician, AISECT PMKK Kobra

“I have pursued B.E in Electrical Engineering. I have been working in AISECT PMKK Korba for last 3 years. My Journey to reach PMKK has been a life changing experience. In spite of the fact that the field for ladies is considerably odd one, I have gained respect in society due to my work as the trainer in the PMKK.

In this field, mobilization of candidates has given me a golden opportunity to connect with poor people and their family which made them aware about PMKVY 2.0 scheme which Central Govt. has launched with a view to making India Skill Ready and Industry Ready. This has eventually made me more positive towards life.

During my working tenure, I have come across trainees who did not consider me appropriate for providing training as Assistant Electrician, but ultimately, they  got to know more through my ways of techniques and knowledge with daily classes. This has provided me a sense of pride to be distinct in my area.

I have gained a lot of experience and knowledge and I am still learning and upgrading my skills along with the trainees pursuing my classes daily and getting self -employed  and self-dependent. This has been an encouraging journey which has made me achieve an exceptional identity in society. Also, trainees from my classes have achieved 1st Rank in National Level of Kaushal Championship 2019, organised by AISECT.”
