As a phenomenal achievement since its inception in 2015, Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI), a not-for-profit integrated technical training institute by Tata Power, enrolled its 50,000th trainee on 3rd June 2019. This is a significant milestone in TPSDI’s journey so far since its inception in 2015. The Institute was founded by Tata Power with the dual motive of bridging the skill gap in the Indian power sector and empowering youth and others with employable skills in the power, allied, and other sectors
The institute, in its first year, 2015, started with an enrollment of 208 trainees. Now within 4 years it has trained over 50,000 in employable skills. TPSDI which started with providing skilling programs for the blue-collared workforce and underprivileged sections of the society, today, has expanded to offer training in higher skills. TPSDI, now also offers courses to engineers and technicians from other organizations and Tata Power, as well as trains engineering college students, enabling them to gain skills that bridge the gap between academics and industry. TPSDI today offers over 150 courses across Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Renewables, Safety, Allied sectors, etc.
