Skillfest 2023 – Online Skills Competition: Results

On the occasion of “World Youth Skills Day 2023”, Team NSN, in collaboration with CEMCA, organized a YouTube live and declared the winners of the online skills competition – CEMCA Skillfest 2023.

Skillsfest 2023, a collaborative effort betweenCommonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) regional centre of the Commonwealth of Learning (CoL) and National Skills Network – NSN, is an online skills competition aimed at promoting and acknowledging the universal nature of skills through a captivating competition, emphasizing the value of skills, and providing a platform where participants can showcase their skills.

The response to our online skills competition has been overwhelming, with multiple entries from enthusiastic participants. The level of enthusiasm and passion displayed by the contestants in showcasing their skills has been truly remarkable. We have witnessed a diverse range of skills, each demonstrating their expertise in their respective fields.

Skillfest 2023 - Online Skills Competition: Results

For Skillfest 2023, the esteemed panel of judges was entrusted with the crucial task of evaluating participants’ performance bringing their extensive knowledge and expertise in their respective fields and ensuring a fair and comprehensive evaluation process. Below are the details of the judges:

  1. Mr.  Gaurav Vats –  Director (Agriculture Services) at ISAP India Foundation who  is an expert in agriculture extension, ICT and supply chain management.
  2. Ms. Gunjan Taneja – Director Bharti Taneja Alps Beauty Group
  3. Dr. Shekhar Kapoor – Processing Expertise, Internship and Placement Officer, BSDU
  4. Mr. George C Varughese –  Strategic Advisor for Various National and international organizations and has contributed to many alternative developments
  5. Prof. Ashok Ogra – Advisor at Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi
  6. Mr. Vijay Gorde –  Master Trainer Advanced Welding Technology with 12 years’ experience in Welding & Fabrication of Material Handling Equipments, Special Purpose machines in Tata Motors, Pune.
  7. Dr. Prakhar Kumar Kharwar – Dean in charge, School of Woodworking Skills, BSDU
  8. Ms. Preity Sarva – Principal in Institute of Fashion Technology at IPS Academy Indore
  9. Mr. Anand Kailas Thombare – Welding Application Engineer and Practical Welding Trainer for FACT Program at Fronius India Pvt. Ltd.

The judging criteria for Skillfest 2023 are as follows:

  1. Demonstration of Skills: Participants were evaluated based on their ability to showcase a skill or a combination of skills. The judges have closely examined the step-by-step process presented in the submitted videos, assessing the participants’ proficiency and technique.
  2. Outcome or Final Result: The judges considered the participants’ effectiveness in completing the assigned tasks and achieving the desired results. The ability to deliver a tangible outcome will be a crucial aspect of the evaluation.
  3. Compliance with Submission Instructions: Participants’ adherence to the Skillfest video submission instructions, as outlined on the official website (ref: https://cemcaskillfest.com/about/), was also considered during the evaluation process.
  4. Overall Presentation: Judges have assessed the video’s overall presentation, including visual and audio elements. Innovative content presentation, creativity, and clarity will be key factors in determining participant scores.
