News Bytes on Skill Development and Vocational Training – 13042020 (2)Jammu and Kashmir partners Tata Technologies: Jammu and Kashmir has partnered with Tata Technologies to set up two Centres for Invention, Innovation, Incubation and Training (CIIIT) in the Union Territory. 

Ranosys Technologies and Bikaner Technical University to skill 10,000 tech graduates: Ranosys Technologies has partnered with Bikaner Technical University to provide skill training to 10,000 tech graduates. The OutSystems education protocol will help BTU students gain access to an integrated curriculum, professional guidance, and training material. 

ABB India partners NASSCOM to develop standardised qualification for IoT jobs: With an aim to develop standardised qualification for IoT jobs, ABB India has partnered with NASSCOM. ABB has created qualification packs to define the competency standards that will provide a framework for schools, colleges, and universities to design their course curriculum to better conform to industry hiring standards. 

NASSCOM introduces free AI course: NASSCOM has launched a free course on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in collaboration with the Union IT ministry. The course will provide an opportunity for individuals to upgrade their emerging tech skills.

MSDE provides online classes for ITI students: MSDE has made available extensive online resources through the Directorate General of Training for around 2 million students enrolled in ITIs who are unable to attend classes due to the nationwide lockdown.

IIT Madras to launch online ‘Certified Cyber Warrior’ course: The Digital Skills Academy at IIT Madras is going to launch a comprehensive cybersecurity course- ‘Certified Cyber Warrior (CCW) v3.0’. The course has been designed as a 120-hour course, which will include live online classes conducted over the weekends.

Safejob offers vocational online training: Safeducation is providing vocational online training with free access to students from rural India through its personalized job readiness and placement platform, Safejob.

Online skill development courses at the times of COVID-19 crisis: At the time of COVID-19 lockdown, people are spending time on free online courses that are being offered to hone their talents and also to pick up a new skill set.

McDonald’s India trains 10,000 managers and frontline crew: McDonald’s India is training 10,000 managers and frontline crew digitally for a strong comeback. It introduced e-learning modules, quizzes, masterclasses and creative sessions for employees as a work from home measure.
