Navjivan Center for Development (NCD), Gujarat is organizing a series of workshops to equip various stakeholders in the skilling ecosystem with knowledge about schemes and processes in setting up and scaling business in this domain. There are 4 workshops planned in Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Chennai and Mumbai on 21st July, 2018; 22nd July 2018; 28th July, 2018 and 29th July, 2018 respectively. Register now by going through the details below:

Why Skill Business @ 2018 Workshop

India’s demographic dividend can be reaped only when its large youth population are put to work. This brings in the need for skill-based training to make them employable. However, India’s technical training infrastructure comprising Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Industrial Training Centers (ITCs) currently has a capacity of 3.1 million seats and it cannot fulfil the training requirements of the industry. Another issue is with regard to the number of youth who have undergone vocational training. At present on 7% of India’s youth are trained in trade-based skills for industries that are creating maximum number of jobs.

This has brought in the need for private sector participation to offer training programs in compliance with the industry requirements, following National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF). Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model has been supported by NSDC and this has created an ecosystem of private players who are keen on investing in the business of skilling.

It is fact that industries need skilled manpower, youth need employment and we need business. There are lots of opportunities but something is missing therefore we discussed together and prepare roadmap to be leader in this sector and contribute immensely in social sector. We would like to invite you to join us in such wonderful discussion.

Skill Business @ 2018 Workshop is designed to help you learn many aspects of the emerging skill development landscape in India with regards to funding, other forms of financial support, utilizing CSR budget, curricular framework and coordination with the state and central government and the industry.
