MoU signed between ni-msme and FTCCI at FTCCI conference on ‘Global Inclusiveness of Women’

ni-msme (National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) has signed an MoU with FTCCI (The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry) at a conference organized by FTCCI on ‘Global Inclusiveness of Women’ on 26-04-2019 at Federation House, Hyderabad.The conference focused on the role of women in Global Value Chain and leveraging technology for business growth.The dignitaries who were present for the conference include Dr.Sanjeev Chaturvedi, Director, ni-msme, Ms. Deepthi Ravula, CE, We-Hub, Govt.of Telangana and Mr.Debashish Mishra, DGM, State Bank of India.C.A Arun Luharuka, President, FTCCI and Mr.Ramakanth Inani, Vice President, FTAPCCI along with other Managing Committee members and staff were also present.

The event started with the welcome address by C.A Arun Luharuka, President, FTCCI followed by the theme address by Ms. Deepthi Ravula, CEO, We-Hub. Ms. Deepthi urged on the Global Business Inclusiveness of Women with special focus on the women –centric initiatives carried out by We-Hub for supporting aspiring women entrepreneurs.

Dr.Sanjeev Chaturvedi’s Special Address focused on the need for addressing the financial needs of women for starting an enterprise. He talked about the need of preparing a solid business plan so as to receive funds from bankers.

The event showcased four sessions which discussed about Leveraging technology for business growth,Role of women in Global Value Chain(GVC),Startup Stories and Export opportunities in Telangana(Services of TSTPC).

Mr.Anand Dubey, Head, Offline Merchant Partnerships, Google Pay, Google and Mr.Bala Prasad Peddigiri, Technology Head-Digital Initiatives,Tata Consultancy Services(TCS) handled the session on Leveraging technology for business growth.The dimensions addressed during this session include Leveraging technology to Economically Empower Women,Modern and innovative solutions to drive business growth and achieve competitive advantage and Scaling up technology on demand.

In the session on ‘Role of Women in Global Value Chain (GVC)’, the main focus areas were Promotion of women’s economic empowerment in GVCs at state, central and international levels, Expansion of GVCs and gender pattern of work across various stages and Challenges and opportunities. The speakers for this session include Mr.K.Bhaskar Reddy, Managing Director, Creamline Dairy Products Ltd, Ms.Kamala Rai, Global Program Head,Global Health Development Unit,Novartis Healthcare Pvt.Ltd, Ms.Rupali Singh, People & Culture Manager, IKEA, Hyderabad, Ms.Koula Achillea, Community Project Manager,IKEA, Ms.Surabhi Kaul, Director HR,Dr.Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.

The third session featured selective Startup Stories of women entrepreneurs who ventured into the non-traditional business sectors. Ms.Monika Misra, Founder and General Manager, iKeva, Mr.Saravanan, AGM(SME),State Bank of India,Ms.Namita Banka, Founder and CMD, Banka BioLoo and G.Gnaneshwari, Mothkur Ikat Handloom Cluster shared their success stories.

The fourth session on ‘Export opportunities in Telangana’ by Dr.Sailaja, Manager, Telangana State Trade Promotion Corporation Ltd, Govt.of Telangana covered the statistical growth of exports in various sectors and major business areas with special reference to the Telangana state.

The event also showcased various MSME enterprises especially from handloom sector that were part of the cluster development programme.

The conference ended on a positive note with the vote of thanks by Mr. Karunendra Jasti, Senior Vice President,FTCCI.
