He helped his mother in agriculture farming and cattle rearing to meet the basic needs of the family. Deepak wanted to support his mother financially, as she was the sole earner in his family. He started to work, but whatever they were earning was not enough to fulfil the basic needs. He wanted to pursue this course because he had an interest towards the electrical sector and wanted to become a field technician.
He came to know about the institute through the mobilization activity conducted in the village Bhowapur. He joined this training institute as he did not have enough money to enrol in a paid training institute. Also, during his visit to the training centre, he really liked the training facilities, practical labs & equipment, and was impressed with the teaching staff. It was conveyed to him that this training is free and he would also be assisted in placement after course completion. It was a course of 3 months, during which he learnt computer proficiency skills and client handling skills.
He was hardworking & keen to learn. He always completed his tasks & practicals on time. He was always regular and punctual to class. During the classes, he was humble and had a positive attitude towards fighting all obstacles in life. After course completion, he secured a job in Vishal Mega Mart and is now supporting his family. His mother is proud of him due to his ability to face all difficulties with colors of success. He earns 8200 pm now.
Gareeb Nawaj, Cctv Installation Technician, PMKK Empower Pragati, Bijnor
Gareeb’s father is a farmer by profession. Apart from him, there are 5 more members including his mother and siblings, who were dependent on his father’s income. He has studied till class 12. Prior to joining the course and training centre, Gareeb worked as a part-time electrician, solving faults in some of the home appliances. He already had some knowledge about the electronics items as he used to repair some small faults, but he wanted to get certify and gain in-depth knowledge so as to increase his employability chances.
Though he was not earning anything during this time, when he met the mobilizers and interacted with them regarding various courses and job roles, he showed interest towards the CCTV Installation job role. He got information about the institute when the mobilization team was conducting mobilization in his village Mandawali. During the counselling session, he visited the training centre and he was really impressed by the centre’s facilities- which include practical labs equipped with all the required technical equipment for effective knowledge. He was also impressed with the trainers as they had a small interaction with him at the centre. He acquired technical knowledge of CCTV installation job role. He also increased his self-confidence and inculcated interpersonal skills. He executed the entire demo given to him by the trainers on his own well during the practical class. The course was of 400 hours.
After completion of the course, he got placed as PCB Assembler in Mahima Enterprises. . This course and certification gave him a platform to work on his rough knowledge and shape his career, as he is now employed and earning a livelihood to support his family financially. He earns 8000 pm now.
