Rustomjee Academy for Global Careers (RAGC) holds RPL Convocation

Rustomjee Academy for Global Careers (RAGC) held a convocation ceremony for 210 candidates under Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL) program in tourism and hospitality sector. The event was held on 22nd June in the presence of dignitaries from the industry and corporate organizations. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is fast emerging as an effective tool to recognize informal learning and respect skills that are acquired by observing and practicing on one’s own. Many industry sectors could benefit from PMKVY – RPL since they are heavily dependent on semi-skilled and informally skilled workforce who can brought into the mainstream through RPL certification.

RAGC RPL ConvocationThe Convocation ceremony was graced by Shri Dattatray Rao Masurkar Ex- President of Khopoli, and Guest of Honor was Ms. Swati Sharma – National Head – Assessments of Tourism & Hospitality Sector Council, Mr. Col. Ashutosh Kale, Chief Operating Officer & Executive Director at Adlabs Imagica CEO & ED Adlabs Entertainment Ltd. and Dr. Shobhit Kalia, Head- Special Projects RAGC.

Also present in the meeting were Mr. Kunal Lala, VP Sila Facilities Management and Mr.Jitendra Sakpal, Sarpanch of adjoining villages, from where most of these candidates hail from. The candidates certified belong to Sila Group and are working at Adlabs Imagica in Housekeeping Department. Other organizations like WIPRO- TCS- Wockhardt Hospital and Fortis Hospital have responded positively towards RAGC’s training program.

ragc rpl convocation1.jpgGuest of Honour Ms. Swati Sharma, highlighted the fact that 65% of the candidates that have cleared and are getting certified are women. She emphasized on the importance of women empowerment and congratulated RAGC on accomplishing this.

The Chief Guest Shri Dattaray Masurkar addressed the Candidates and motivated them by explaining the benefits of the Skill India’s RPL initiative, and appreciated RAGC for taking up the Initiative of training people and providing them with requisite recognition. Mr. Col Ashutosh Kale, CEO & ED Adlabs Imagica Entertainment, informed the gathering that they would like to get all their other staff also certified and requested RAGC to start the process
