- NCVET conducted a capacity-building workshop for Awarding Bodies on April 7, 2026, in New Delhi, focusing on regulatory alignment, digital platforms, and strengthening India’s vocational education ecosystem.
- Hyderabad’s Mehrunisha Begum won gold in Logistics & Freight Forwarding at IndiaSkills 2026, organised by NSDC, after advancing through multiple selection rounds from district to national level.
- Union Budget 2026 – 27 boosted India’s Orange Economy, allocating ₹250 crore to set up AVGC labs in 15,000 schools and 500 colleges to build a future-ready creative technology workforce.
- Shri Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), Ministry of Education, launched Career Cards for Children with Special Needs to expand inclusive career guidance, developed with UNICEF, NCERT, and partner institutions to ensure equitable access for learners nationwide.

- Sikkim won a bronze medal at Skill India Competition 2026 in its debut participation, showcasing excellence among competitors from across 63 trade sectors at the national event in Greater Noida.
- Telangana launched a skill development programme for transgender persons, offering training in drone piloting, hotel management, and driving to promote inclusion, dignity, and livelihood opportunities.
- A three-month tailoring training programme under the Shakti Sadan Project was launched in Kangpokpi, Manipur, to empower over 20 women, including displaced persons, through skill development.
- Nagaland inaugurated the expanded Industry 4.0 Centre of Excellence ‘SRUJAN’ at NTTC Dimapur, supported by Bharat Forge and SimuSoft, to strengthen advanced manufacturing skills and training in the state.

- SIMPACT 2026 in New Delhi united healthcare leaders to explore simulation-based training, AI, and VR, highlighting innovative approaches to enhance clinical skills and workforce readiness across India’s healthcare sector.
- MediSim VR partnered with AIIMS New Delhi to integrate AI-enabled VR into medical and nursing education, advancing research on immersive training and its impact on clinical skill development and standardisation.
- Diageo India partnered with THSC to train and certify over 300 youth under the “Learning for Life” programme, equipping them with industry-relevant hospitality skills for improved career opportunities.
- Indian Hotels Company trained over 42,000 youth and expanded its skilling network to meet rising hospitality demand, focusing on building local talent pipelines, especially in emerging and underserved regions.
- ASDC and HCLFoundation certified 90 taxi driver trainees in Bengaluru, including 82 women, under a skill initiative promoting gender inclusion, employability, and safe driving in the mobility sector.
- edForce partnered with NVIDIA to expand training in AI, accelerated computing, and data applications, addressing the rising demand for digital skills amid rapid global growth in AI-driven jobs and productivity.
- Tata Group subsidiary Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) trained over 42,000 youth and expanded its skilling centres to 83, accelerating efforts to build a strong hospitality talent pipeline amid rapid industry growth and rising demand.
