The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has partnered with various organisations such as Pearson, HTMi, ISIEINDIA and HDFC Life to aid workforce skills enhancement in India, employability skills and encourage youth to pursue apprenticeship programs.

NSDCI partnership with Pearson

The Business Technology and Education Council (BTEC), one of Pearson’s globally successful programs, will be promoted among NSDCI’s education partners and affiliates in India, following a collaboration agreement signed on March 2, 2023 between the National Skill Development Corporation International (NSDCI) and the world’s largest learning firm, Pearson. The aim of this collaboration is to accelerate the adoption of academic and vocational qualifications that are recognized by employers and education ministries around the world.

In order to increase outreach through its Skilling Audience across 11,000+ Training Centers, 750 PMKK (Centers of Excellence), and 13,000+ Schools/Universities/Academic Institutes, across 700+ districts of India, NSDC International will support Pearson in raising awareness about their BTEC programs within its ecosystem.

BTEC offers a wide range of courses and career options across diverse fields such as

  • Business
  • Engineering
  • Media
  • Art and Design
  • Health and Social Care
  • Digital Technology
  • Cloud Computing
  • IT
  • Hospitality

With the help of industry and academics, Pearson BTEC provides high-quality, career-focused programs that are recognised by more than 100 international professional bodies. Because they ensure seamless progression to a student’s undergraduate degree journey and into skill development, the Pearson BTEC qualifications are reliable and highly relevant. In order to ensure that BTEC qualifications meet the requirements of employers, they are designed in collaboration with the relevant Sector Skills Council of Britain (SSC). One million students are currently enrolled in BTEC programs, which were first offered in the UK and cover senior secondary education all the way up to the equivalent of a degree. These are vocational courses that are intended to meet the demands of employers and further develop a student’s skills and knowledge so they can advance in their careers.

NSDC partnerships

NSDC partnership with HDFC Life

Under the Skill India Mission, NSDC has teamed with the life insurance company HDFC Life. The partnership aims to foster self-employment and augment entrepreneurial opportunities.

By strengthening the last mile reach, NSDC will support HDFC Life in employing skilled life insurance advisors. Furthermore, the partnership would provide training to candidates taking the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) IC38 exam, as well as boost skill enhancement.

The partnership aims to provide opportunities for youth to explore self-employment prospects for a sustainable livelihood through imparting soft skills. The candidates will receive soft skill training.

NSDC partnership with ISIEINDIA Pvt. Ltd.

To help deliver top-notch training programs that would enable aspirants to enter high-growth careers, NSDC partnered with ISIEINDIA Pvt. Ltd., a placement-oriented skill development venture.

In the next three years, ISIEINDIA will be able to provide programs like:

  • B. Tech Specialization in EV Technology
  • PG Certification in Data Science
  • Robo – I (Jr., Pro, Master
  • Internships, and more

The goal of ISIE is to enroll more than 25,000 learners from tier-2 and tier-3 cities as well as small towns and villages, provide them with practical experience for aspirational roles, and ultimately meet India’s growing demand for skilled manpower.

NSDC partnership with HTMi

NSDC, under the auspices of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Switzerland based Hotel and Tourism Management Institute (HTMi) on February 28th, 2023.

This partnership was focused to jointly provide certificate, diploma, advance diploma, and certification courses in hospitality. This was done to support skill development initiatives in the sector and encourage professionals to pursue apprenticeships. A tri-party MoU was also signed by NSDC, HTMi, and Lamrin Tech Skill University (LTSU). Read more…
