- NSDC has partnered with SDI Bhubaneswar to establish India’s first Skill India International Center in Odisha with an aim to enhance overseas opportunities for the youth.
- With an aim to provide eSkill courses to candidates eligible under the e-Skilling initiative, Cliniminds has signed an agreement with Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council (LSSSDC). Cliniminds Post Graduate Diploma would also be offered after completing the programme.
- In the recently held 80th SKOCH Summit and SKOCH Awards, NMDC won the Gold Award in the category social responsibility for the project ‘Promotion of Technical Education and Skill Development in Dantewada District through NMDC ITI Bhansi’.

Skill development news from the states- Jammu and Kashmir – An initiative to connect the youth of Jammu and Kashmir with the industry is taking place through a portal of Mission Youth in collaboration with Vision India. It was launched by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. This initiative also aims to provide more than 10,000 job opportunities to the youth in 2022.
- Jharkhand – NIESBUD has signed an MoU with Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ), Ranchi with an aim to promote entrepreneurship on and off campus through value-added programmes in professional and technical education in India. Read more…
- Kerala – To give transgender people skill training in their interested areas, the Social Justice Department of Kerala is planning to roll out a new programme called Sakalyam. This will train transgender people with skills in different sectors and earn a livelihood.
- Ladakh – To train 75 youths from 13 identified villages of Leh and Nubra Valley to become entrepreneurs in the value chain production of Sea buckthorn products, SIDBI along with M3M Foundation has partnered with Aide et Action to implement the project – Swavalamban – Livelihood Enhancement and Awareness Program.
- Odisha – Being developed with the funds sanctioned under ‘Mo College/University Abhiyan’, the IT skill development centre at Gangadhar Meher University (GMU) will be ready by August 2022.
- Tamil Nadu – With a focus to link industries and ITI in districts, apprenticeship Mela is organised in Salem to hire apprentices for vacancies in firms here. This is to hire trainees for apprenticeship vacancies in industries. The trainees will be provided with apprenticeship certificates at the end of the programme.
- Tamil Nadu – Higher Education Minister K Ponmudy told that the government of Tamil Nadu has introduced teaching foreign languages such as German to final year students of state-run engineering colleges to enhance their employability skills.
