CMIA organizes a webinar to promote apprenticeship schemes: CMIA organized a webinar to promote apprenticeship scheme in hospitals. The webinar was jointly organized by CMIA, Vocational Education and Training, Healthcare Sector Skill Council and GIZ to bring all the stakeholder together on a common platform and discuss the need for manpower in the paramedical field.

Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh government uses drones to battle COVID-19 pandemic: The government of Andhra Pradesh has been leveraging the benefits of drones by using it to battle the COVID-19 pandemic. The government did an aerial survey across 2,100 sites across 13 districts in the state for the ministry of rural development. They saved over Rs 200 crore by using the technology.

NewsbytesCEMS Vizag to offer training programme for polytechnic students: CEMS in Visakhapatnam has come up with a skill-development training programme to impart real-time industry exposure to the polytechnic students. For this initiative, the CEMS Vizag collaborated with Siemens, one of the prominent international industrial companies to offer offer training programme for polytechnic students.

Delhi

Delhi University sets up skill development institute: Delhi University has set up a skill development institute under the Institution of Eminence scheme. The institute will involve scholars from across disciplines, including the sciences, humanities, social sciences, commerce and economics, finance and management.

Karnataka

GTTC partners with Dassault Sysytem to establish 3DExperience Innovation Centre: Dassault Systèmes and GTTC has partnered to set up four 3DExperience Innovation Centres in the districts of Raichur, Bellary, Bidar and Yadgir (Gulbarga) in the Kalyana-Karnataka. The centres aims at reducing the skill gap between the students and the industry to facilitate employment opportunities in Karnataka.

Online job fair for migrant workers: The government of Karnataka is going to organize a virtual job fair for migrant workers on 10th July 2020. The job fair is co-ordinated by the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC) in which more than 40 companies will be participating for about 6,000 job openings.

Maharastra

MMRDA to hold online job fair:  MMRDA is going to hold an online job fair to address the labour shortage for their upcoming projects. MMRDA will organize the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Online Job Fair in two phases between July 6 and July 12 to fill the vacancy.
