To strengthen the evolving skilling ecosystem in India, we need patience, optimism and an undeterred faith in our ability to keep learning. Few things may work while may not! But that shouldn’t discourage us in learning from what has worked and reflecting on what hasn’t. Most importantly, we need to recognize the efforts of people who make it work. Among them, the contribution of vocational trainers is the most significant. The question is: how do we build up the pillars on which the foundation of skill development and vocational training is being laid?

2019 saw few key initiatives like Kaushalacharya awards for vocational trainers, the induction of Indian Skill Development Service personnel and setting up of Indian Institute of Skills. We hope recognition and rewards for trainers along with lucrative pay packages get further attention in both private and government sectors.
