The Authorized World Skills India Training Centers (AWSITC) set up by MESC (Media & Entertainment Skill Council) are aimed at training the candidates for IndiaSkills and WorldSkills competitions. The objective is to impart advanced training in media and entertainment sector using latest tools and technologies. This will prepare the candidates to meet the global standards in terms of rigour, quality and performance through NSQF compliant projects.

MESC commenced training of trainers to facilitate competitive training by launching the first First Training of Trainers (ToT) Program at the Hyatt hotel in Pune. The key focus of ToT program is to prepare the trainers using internationally approved training methodology, processes and techniques so that they equip the candidates for skills competitions at national and international levels. The expert trainers will also assist in selection of candidates in various states.

MESC training of trainers (ToT) for WorldSkills CompetitionsUnder the ToT program, the trainers would be introduced to the changes in training methodology and pedadogy as per Qualification Packs (QPs) and National Occupational Standards (NOS) for different job roles in the Media and Entertainment sector. The training would be imparted under two models: ‘ToT for a New Trainer’ and ‘ToT for an Existing Trainer’.

ToT model for a new trainer in Media and Entertainment sector

The ‘ToT model for a new trainer’ involves imparting in Qualification Packs (QPs) pertaining to the domain and platform skills along with the assessment of both within a period of 10 days, provided that the trainer already meets the criteria set by SSCs on educational qualification and industry experience. On passing both assessments with a minimum score of 80%, the trainer becomes a ‘Certified Trainer’.

ToT model for an existing trainer in Media and Entertainment sector

The ‘ToT model for an existing trainer’ is the ToT model applicable for trainers with prior training experience of a minimum of 500 hours. This ToT model entails only the assessment and not the training on domain QP and platform skills assessment, given that the trainer already meets the criteria set for educational qualification and industry experience, and has a minimum training experience of 500 hours.

On passing both assessments with a minimum score of 80%, the trainer becomes a ‘Certified Trainer’. Any score below 80% would require the trainer to enroll for the ‘ToT model for new trainer’ if he or she wishes to. Certificates issued to trainers will be valid for 2 years.
