The Media and Entertainment Industry is emerging as a crucial sector for India’s development. It has and will contribute hugely to our country’s economic growth. It has also been a major job creator and is known to nurture creative and innovative talent. This industry offers jobs under five major sub sectors; Advertising and Digital Industry, Print Industry, Gaming and Animation, Film, Television and Radio, and Music Industry. The gamut of jobs offered under each of these heads are all driven by creative forces and require a certain amount of innovative and inventive thinking. This factor of this industry is attracting a pool of creative individuals, most of them youngsters.

The Media and Entertainment industry comprises of 25 major crafts. These crafts fall under three major heads – creative crafts like cinematography and art, technical crafts like animation and VFX, and other crafts like production assistants.These jobs mostly come under the sub sectors of graphic designing and animation, music, and films.

The Indian Gaming and Animation Sector is getting bigger and better. According to the KPMG India-FICCI Indian Media and Entertainment Industry Report 2017, the Indian animation and VFX industry grew at 16.4 per cent in 2016 to reach a size of INR59.5 billion. This consistent and speedy advancement of this industry, in synergy with technological developments is resulting in a large number of jobs under various heads.
