MSDE collaborates with IBM to provide training to the trainers: The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship collaborates with IBM to train the trainers in AI. the aim of the programme is to train 10,000 faculty members from ITIs across India in basic Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills to use the technology in their day-to-day training activities. Skill India partnered with Google to accelerate India’s job search market: A job search feature will be added in Google Pay service as per the announcement at Google for India 2019. This feature has been launched to find entry-level jobs.

NSDC collaborates with Walchand PeopleFirst: NSDC partnered with Walchand PeopleFirst Ltd. (WPFL) to boost the performance of Indian participants for WorldSkills Competition 2019 which was held in Kazan, Russia.

MHRD launched National Education Alliance for Technology: To bring start-ups developing adaptive learning technologies and government initiatives under one umbrella, MHRD has launched the National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT).

FICCI 12th Global Skills Summit 2019 : FICCI organized the 12th Global Skills Summit, 2019’ on the theme ‘India – The Skill Capital: Making it happen in Delhi on 20th September 2019. A host of dignitaries discussed and deliberated many aspects of skilling India during the plenary and panel discussions. This preceded by felicitation of WorldSkills Award winners and  “Virasat” a northeast focused event that brought together many experts and entrepreneurs engaged in cluster-based entrepreneurship. ASDC held its 32nd Governing Council Meeting: The Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) organised its 32nd Governing Council meeting.Different plans were announced to adopt measures to boost skilling in the automotive sector. 

9,000 Vacancies to be filled by Coal India Limited: Coal India Limited (CIL) is planning to hire 9,000 people. CIL is the world’s largest coal producer and also India’s biggest public-sector employer after the Indian Railways with employee strength of more than 2.5 lakh.

IIW requests for waiver of GST on basic skill development courses: The Indian Institute of Welding (IIW) has requested for waiver of GST on basic skill development courses as the GST is currently being applicable even on short duration basic welding courses. 

WeldFab Tech Awards 2019: For the first time in India for Welding Segment, with an objective to encourage and reward the welding industry for their excellence and innovations, WeldFab Tech Awards 2019 was organized on 14th September at Hotel Sahara Star, Mumbai.

Google is going  to open AI lab in India: Google is going to open AI lab in Bengaluru, India. The AI lab will focus on applying AI research to solve problems in healthcare, agriculture and education.

AICTE to give Pragati and Saksham Scholarships: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has invited applications for Saksham Scholarship for Differently Abled Students and Pragati Scholarship for Girls and for 2019-20 Last date to apply for the scholarship is October 8.

 Andhra Pradesh

Skill connect drive was held by APSSDC: Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) organised a skill connect drive where as many as 16 students got selected.. The drive was conducted by Divis Labs and was organised on the premises of AKVK Degree College, Ongole.

South Korea to boost skill development in Andhra Pradesh:  South Korea is going to help the Government of Andhra Pradesh in skill development. In order to do that a South Korean delegation agreed to set up a centre in Korea for Andhra Pradesh They are also going to establish a Korean technical institute in the state.

The Government of Maharashtra to provide training centers to the teachers in vocational education: The Government of Maharashtra is going to set up training institutes to provide training in the field of vocational education and skill development to the newly recruited teachers and professors in universities and colleges under the jurisdiction of the higher and technical education department.

The Government of Maharashtra to hire teachers for Pharm D: The Government of Maharashtra  is going to hire teachers for Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) course at Government Colleges of Pharmacy. 

Nagaland

A programme on skill development in motor industry was conducted by Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki India Limited at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur.

Tamil Nadu

As per state government’s initiatives, 50000 marginalized people will undergo skill based training through short term courses on skill development from Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation.

Tripura

The Government of Tripura is contemplating to set up 7 PPP colleges:The Government of Tripura is planning for the setup of at least 7 new degree colleges in PPP model in the state inorder to improve the higher education infrastructure and facilities.
