NCVT and NSDA merged to form NCVET

The merger of the existing regulatory institutions in the skills space – National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) and the National Skill Development Agency (NSDA) into the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) was approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs.

NCVET will regulate the functioning of entities engaged in vocational education and training, both long-and short-term and establish minimum standards for the functioning of such entities.

ANIIDCO: CSR programs executed with a lot of zeal

ANIIDCO (Andaman and Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Corporation Limited), has taken Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) seriously and performed exceedingly well in philanthropic activities and partnered with other government agencies too. With a turnover of Rs 306 crore and profit of Rs 19.93 crores earned in the financial year 2017-18, ANIIDCO spent the mandated share of 2 percent under CSR for social work helping the overall development of these islands.

Job offers given to 3000 UP students at Skill India’s ‘Rozgar Mela’

A three-day Skill India ‘Rozgar Mela’ at Lucknow which was the largest job fair in Uttar Pradesh, concluded in which around 3,000 candidates were selected for various job roles. ‘Rozgar Melas’ organised by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in various cities have been instrumental in connecting thousands of youth to employers.

According to NASSCOM President Re-Skilling is the Biggest Challenge for IT Sector

Debjani Ghosh, president of NASSCOM, said that re-skilling is the most important for IT firms and finding the right talent is their biggest challenge. She said that re-skilling has to be made mandatory for this industry and it has to be job-oriented. Since jobs are changing, and the technology is making that change happen faster than before we need to ensure the workforce is ready for new jobs.

International skill certification courses admissions to start in November

Admissions into International Skill Certification Courses would begin from November, according to the programme manager, Singapore Synchro Skills and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra Centre Head in Vijayawada.

The certification programme would be held in partnership with Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) and Singapore Synchro Skills and the classes would commence in the first week of November.

Panasonic Welding Systems India supports AOTS (Japan) & CII (India) Technical Seminar and Workshop on “High Precision Arc Welding Technology in India”, in Ahmedabad

CII (India) and OTS, Japan (Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships) organized a Technical Seminar and Workshop on High Precision Arc Welding Technology at Ahmedabad. The seminar included a practical demonstration of Japanese latest welding technology at Gujarat Technological University (GTU), Ahmedabad on both the days. This training program at Ahmedabad was funded by Ministry of Economy Trade and Industry, Japan (METI)

64 youths given mobile repair training at Kolhan

440 hours of mobile repair training was given to as many as 64 youths from Kolhan under the aegis of Venture Skill India Private Limited. At the end of the training all the trainees secured placement in Flaxtronics India Private Limited, a mobile manufacturing company. This training was conducted under the Jharkhand Skill Development Mission.
