ACE Foundation, a vocational school set up by industry professionals, has now set out to launch the Industry-Institute Partnership Model at one of the most prestigious colleges of Vadodara, Gujarat in the form of a Finishing School. ACE Foundation signed a MoU on 31st of May 2018 with The Faculty of Commerce, The Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) of Baroda to launch a finishing school concept for the commerce students.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Neerja Jaiswal, the Registrar of The MSU and Mr. Rohit Kothari, Director of ACE Foundation in the presence of Dr. Piramal Vyas, the Vice-Chancellor of MSU and Dr. Dinkar Nayak, Dean of Faculty of Commerce MSU. In order to give back to their Alma mater – MSU; ACE Foundation Directors – Mr. Rohit Kothari, Mr. Mukund Bakshi and Mr. Manish Kothari have taken this initiative forward to benefit over 2500 students, free of cost.
The objective behind launching a finishing school is to help the university to develop the employability skills of the students in technical areas along with their personal skills. Moreover, the finishing school sets out by profiling each student through a uniquely designed online test assessing their interest level and capability in the core commercial areas such as Banking, Accounts, Sales and Marketing and Retail along with General Employability. It is for the first time; the state university has opted for conducting a test through a technology platform.
The programme will run parallel for the final year students with regular classes after the official class timings covering 50-hours module for each domain like the plug-and-play mode. The uniqueness of the programme lies in Industry partnership where the experts from various fields would be coming on board as faculty, trainers and mentors to bridge the gap between the academic and professional world. Various banking professionals, industrialists, CAs, financial experts have agreed to be part of this programme as guides and mentors.
The intent is to make industry an equal stakeholder and taking the front stage with the academia. When the industry becomes a stakeholder in the education system, the students are better prepared from Day 1 whether they’re aiming to join an organisation or start their own one in near future. Through this finishing school, the faculty of commerce will be able to bring the best practices in the commercial industry to their students. The synergy is entrusted to develop an avenue for overall development and growth of the students to develop skill-sets for the dynamic job market.
