Expressions of Interest (EOIs) in CGSSC and TSC

Capital Goods and Strategic Skill Council Invites EOIs for Skill Training Projects in West Bengal

The Capital Goods & Strategic Skill Council (CGSSC) invites Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from eligible Training Partners to undertake Short-Term Training projects in West Bengal. These projects will be implemented under the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes Development & Finance Corporation across various CGSSC job roles.

Interested Training Partners must submit their detailed proposals along with the required documents as per the checklist provided. Proposals should be sent to the CEO, CGSSC, New Delhi, by 4:00 PM on December 31, 2024.

TSC Invites EOI for Empanelment of Textile Training Providers for MSMEs in Maharashtra

The Textile Sector Skill Council (TSC) invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from experienced Textile Training Providers to deliver specialized training for MSMEs in Maharashtra’s textile sector. The initiative includes Recruit-Train-Deploy and Upskilling/Reskilling programs, starting January 2025. Eligible organizations must have a minimum of three years of experience and adequate training infrastructure.

  • Finance Minister Shri Nirmala Sitharaman, at the 55th GST Council meeting, announced GST exemption for Skill Training Council-affiliated training partners.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized India’s readiness to contribute to the creation of a ‘New Kuwait’ through its skilled workforce, expertise, and advanced technology.
  • The government of Maharashtra aims to create five lakh jobs in the next five years, with a focus on employment and skill development.
  • Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw outlined the Government of India’s strategic vision for Artificial Intelligence, led by the India AI Mission, prioritizes inclusivity and innovation, with 8.6 lakh enrollments on the Future Skills platform to bridge the AI skills gap.
  • Handicrafts and Handloom Department, Kashmir, launches PMKVY 4.0 training for 650 artisans in crafts like Papier Mache, Copperware, Zari, and Stone Carving.
  • Uttar Pradesh signs MoU with Japan’s Yamanashi for industrial cooperation, tourism, and vocational education, with CM Yogi Adityanath impressively opening his address in Japanese.
  • The Assam Cabinet has approved the establishment of the Assam International Skill Centre (AISC) to enhance global employment opportunities for skilled workers from the state.

Skill development Updates on CSR, Industry

  • Infosys Foundation and INAE have partnered with a ₹38 crore investment to transform engineering education, focusing on upskilling educators and offering project-based internships and mentorships to B.Tech and B.E. students.
  • Venus Remedies Limited has implemented the NSDC skill certification initiative for the first time, certifying 128 employees across 30 departments to enhance workforce skills and align with industry standards.
  • The Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council’s online placement drives in Manipur under the HSRT program successfully secured jobs for over 160 students with top companies like PVR Inox and Barbeque Nation.
  • The report on the Comparative Study of School Education Systems, launched at the 8th CII National Education Summit, emphasizes strategies to bridge disparities and foster inclusive, quality education globally.
  • IIT Madras and Renault Nissan Tech has partnered to boost talent development, offering internships, mentorship, and placements to BS degree students.
  • India advances digital growth in 2024 with approved semiconductor projects, AI leadership at GPAI, and initiatives in cybersecurity and electronics manufacturing.
  • MedLern empowers healthcare professionals with digital courses on compliance, soft skills, NABH standards, and professional development to enhance patient care.
  • The Adani Foundation, in partnership with ACC, has empowered 50 women in rural Varanasi through its Adani Skill Development Centre, placing them in roles at Indivillage, a KPO enterprise.
  • HDFC Bank’s Parivartan and Ambuja Foundation launched a three-year agri-water initiative in Maharashtra to benefit 10,000 farmers by enhancing water management, irrigation, and soil fertility.

Skilling and Upskilling in Academia and Emerging Technologies

  • Sri Sathya Sai Premamrutha Vocational Skill Development Training Centre was inaugurated in Paderu to empower and provide employment opportunities to tribal communities, contributing to social development.
  • IIHM’s Institute of Hospitality Skills (IIHS) has opened a new state-of-the-art training center in Udaipur, offering vocational hospitality courses to bridge the skill gap in the industry.
  • Punjab sees a surge in ITI admissions, filling 93% of seats in 137 institutes, with plans to add 52,000 seats by 2025 to meet industrial demands.
  • NCC Karnataka-Goa Directorate, with MAHE and partners, hosted a program to boost entrepreneurship and startup skills among select NCC cadets.
