The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) partnered with different organisations to provide various training programs to upgrade and upskill individuals. Below are the important updates from NSDC and MSDE.

MSDE and ISRO Collaboration

The National Skill Training Institutes (NSTI), premier institutions within the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), launched the ISRO Technical Training Program.

With the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Karmayogi Mission, a capacity building initiative aimed at improving the skills of government employees and further supporting his vision of increasing India’s share in the global economy, the training program at NSTI Bangalore was inaugurated on December 15, 2022, by Shri Sudheer Kumar, Director, CBPO, ISRO HQ.

The ISRO Technical Training Program was developed as a result of the collaboration between MSDE and ISRO, which resulted from the signing of an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) to upgrade technical staff members at the Department of Space (ISRO). The program’s goal is to create a formal framework for short-term courses that would train ISRO technical staff members and help them enhance their capacities and skills in line with current trends and needs in the nation’s space industry. Over the next five years, more than 4000 ISRO technical staff members will be trained in the program at various NSTIs across India.

NSTI Bangalore: The first course in the training program is Industrial Hydraulic and Controls

NSTI Mumbai: The first course in the training program is Industrial Automation

NSTI Trivandrum: The first course in the training program is Software Development

20 trainees in each NSTI receive instruction throughout the course of the five days.

partnerships from NSDC and MSDE

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India and NSDC Partnership

In order to train more than 1600 young people across the nation in digital skills, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the NSDC on December 16, 2022.

The initiative intends to empower young people from four states—Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra and provide them with vocational skills that would enable them to secure jobs such as IT helpdesk attendant and data entry operator.

This is AM/NS India’s second initiative at digital training in collaboration with NSDC. Out of 800 applicants, 556 have so far successfully completed an initial programme that was launched in August 2021. This program will guarantee at least 70% placement in this project. Due to the program’s success, it has been renewed with a goal of doubling the number of young people who will benefit from it and expanding its catchment area to include Kendrapara, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Dantewada.

NSDC, Podar Eduspace, and EduCLaaS Partnership

The NSDC signed an MoU with Podar Eduspace Pvt Ltd and EduCLaaS Pvt Ltd on December 14, 2022, to impart futuristic and digital skills in India’s youth in order to prepare them for the future through special apprenticeship-based postgraduate education programs.

  • Two programs will be launched as part of the agreement to develop the young Indian talent pool.
  • These programs last for 24 months; the candidates will undergo rigorous online training for the first six months,
  • 18 months of online, on-the-job corporate apprenticeship that will result in an international master’s degree from a European university.
  • The cost of the program will be covered by an apprenticeship, making it free for students to participate.

By offering courses in software engineering and cloud computing that specialise students in future technologies like python programming, database management, cloud management, administration, and security skills, this collaboration aims to fulfil the aspirations of young Indians who want to participate in today’s progressive job market. The selected candidates will be offered interviews and apprenticeships with major corporations.

With the use of a number of videos, flip cards, diagrams, and other visuals, these courses will train the enrolled students in a wide range of digital skills through live sessions and self-paced asynchronous modules.

Benefits from the collaboration for the candidates include:

  • Candidates who are aspiring to become digital business analysts, data analysts, data managers, data scientists, Cloud computing professionals, and Cloud management specialists would benefit.
  • Candidates will be qualified for an 18-month paid apprenticeship with worldwide and local MNCs, hyper-growth companies, and start-ups after completing the 6-month training program, opening up a wide range of employment opportunities for them in the global market.
