Fronius India conducted the first valedictory ceremony of FACT program on 29th May 2023 by celebrating growth and success of the students, nominated by ITIs in Pune. FACT (Fronius & Academia Centre for Skill Training) is an ambitious initiative by Fronius India aimed at producing skilled and industry-ready welders. Industry experts have designed this program to ensure the holistic development of students who are prepared to meet the demand for skilled welders in India and abroad.

The valedictory ceremony marked a significant milestone in the journey of the FACT program. It was time for reflection on the student’s achievements, acknowledging their dedication and hard work, and celebrating their acquired knowledge and placement offers from reputable organizations.

Below are a few highlights of the program that boosted the welding skills and employability of the students:

  • The students engaged in teamwork and collaboration, gaining knowledge of various welding techniques, joints, parts, machines, and combinations.
  • They received training in computer literacy, soft skills, and corporate etiquette, which enhanced their ability to excel in placement interviews and boosted their confidence in the corporate environment.
  • The students also formed strong relationships with their peers and mentors, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.

In his valedictory address, Mr. V. V. Kamath, MD, Fronius India mentioned, “It was a fabulous 45 working days with the remarkable 23 students of our first FACT program. The premises was filled with energy, and it was a completely different atmosphere around an institute. We were thrilled with the enthusiasm of the students for learning, absorbing as much as possible during these training sessions and this urge of learning will make them successful in the future. This is just the first baby step for them, the sky’s the limit for these young kids if they keep learning and absorbing things as they did in FACT program. We are delighted by the trust and support received from the ITIs in Pune through nomination of the students for this program and taking feedback from time to time for the development. This positive attitude is immensely encouraging for us to continue our path to provide skilled welders for manufacturing companies. I congratulate all students and teachers for successfully completing our first FACT program, this is just a start, we have many more to come!”

He appreciated the commitment and dedication of the students, the mentors for their guidance and support, and the organizers for their hard work and vision. “We are proud of what we have achieved together, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration in the future”, he added.

Mr. Shashikant Sable, Principal – (ITI, Nigdi, Pune) felt happy to see remarkable growth in the skills and knowledge about welding besides personality improvement. He said the program was highly effective in providing better prospects to the students and making them ready to face the new and different environment even before passing out from the ITI course. He thanked Fronius India for the exceptional course and said, “we will be continuing our relationship by promoting FACT program and sending our students for every batch. We are glad to be a part of this mission of developing 500 skilled welders for the coming future.”

In his closing remarks, Mr. Devendra Gope, Program Facilitator, Fronius India wholeheartedly appreciated the participation and engagement of the students. He also acknowledged their active participation in making the program a memorable and meaningful experience. Reiterating the commitment of Fronius India for continuous support in welding, he said, “We hope that you will stay connected, continue to learn and grow, and apply your newfound skills and knowledge in your work and community. It has been a pleasure to work with you, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavours. Thank you and all the best for the bright future ahead!”

  • We often talk about innovation, future skills, and employability. But the real foundation for all of this is built much earlier, in our schools.Students from PM SHRI Demonstration Multipurpose School (DMS), Bhopal, have developed a smart multi-sensor safety system that can detect gas leaks, fire, temperature, and humidity, along with real-time alerts. What makes this noteworthy is not just the outcome, but the learning process behind it.This is what happens when students move beyond textbooks and engage in hands-on, application-based learning. They don’t just understand concepts; they apply them to solve real-world problems. It’s a reminder that when students are given the right opportunities, guidance, and environment, their potential can translate into meaningful, practical solutions. As conversations around skill education and future readiness continue to grow, there is a clear need to create more such learning experiences in schools, where curiosity, experimentation, and problem-solving are at the core.Because that is where real learning begins.#skilldevelopment #education #studentinnovation #learningbydoing #educationtransformation #STEMEducation #younginnovators
