TCS iON Vocational Education

Today, Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines have become an integral part of the digital manufacturing process. Through CNC machining, manufacturing industries are able to increase productivity and efficiency. With computerised control and monitoring, CNC machines are fast replacing older tools and paving the way for digital manufacturing in industries such as Automotive, Aerospace, Oil and Gas, Electronics and Precision Components.

With the high adoption of these machines, there is a continuous demand for skilled professionals in CNC technology in India and abroad. Job roles like CNC Machinist, CNC Operator, CNC Programmer or CNC Machine Shop Supervisor require a sound knowledge of CNC Technology as well as intense hands-on practice under the guidance of an expert.

Since CNC machines use the latest technologies in Design and Engineering, the training focuses on various hardware components along with programming skills. At present most of the CNC professionals are ITI and Polytechnic Diploma holders, however, their numbers are not enough to meet the existing and upcoming job roles in the manufacturing sector.

  • To cater to the growing job market that requires highly competent professionals, we need innovative training programs that provide easy access to learning along with quality content and hands-on exposure to the latest technology.

  • Training in the latest CNC technology cannot be limited to the traditional format of learning in the classroom! We need to adopt a blend of technology and physical classroom through the phygital model.

Build your career in digital manufacturing with courses in CNC Technology

So, how does the phygital model work in CNC training? What about the practical components that are so crucial in getting hands-on experience? How does one get real industry experience during the training?

The phygital model offers the best of both – the convenience of offering theory classes anytime-anywhere and the facility to do the practical sessions at a training centre near you.

The CNC Technology courses are offered by NTTF and are digitally enabled by TCS iON. NTTF is a pioneer in providing technical training and is well known among industries especially in the Manufacturing, Automation, Electronics, Mechatronics, Information Technology and Computer Engineering sectors. NTTF has been providing industry-relevant technical training to ensure the industry readiness of its students for the last six decades.

The CNC Technology courses from NTTF and digitally enabled by TCS iON are designed using a phygital model where you can learn:

  1. The theory anytime anywhere on any device, delivered by renowned academia
  2. Hands-on learning to acquire skills in various tool room machines, CNC programming, operation, maintenance and inspection, at a nearby centre of NTTF

Highlights of the courses in CNC Technology

CNC machines require skilled professionals to carry out certain complex tooling and machining tasks. This includes designing various components and ensuring that the machining process gives the desired output. Besides technical skills, an eye for detail, precision and accuracy are essential while the parts and components get cut from the raw material. They also need to ensure quality and safety standards in addition to taking care of the maintenance of the machine.

The following three courses cover a spectrum of skills and knowledge in the latest CNC Technology:

CNC Milling: The course imparts adequate knowledge and skills in the Operation of CNC Milling Centres.

CNC Turning: The course equips the learners with the skills in the Operation of CNC Turning Centres and CNC Vertical Machining Centres.

CNC Programming: The course imparts adequate knowledge and skills in the Programming of CNC Turning Centre and CNC Vertical Machining Centres.

How the CNC Technology courses are offered

  • The courses on CNC Milling, CNC Turning and CNC Programming provide ample scope for practical learning through a blend of online live lectures followed by hands-on learning at the Learning and Assessment Centre
  • The modular structure of the course offers well-structured content, designed to make the learning process easy and organized
  • The immersive nature of the course ensures a real-world experience with the latest CNC machines under the guidance of a subject expert
  • The subject experts, who have several years of training experience, backed by industry exposure, adopt a mentoring approach, to facilitate a learner-centric experience
  • To make sure that the desired learning outcomes are achieved at every stage, the trainees get assessed soon after the completion of each module
  • On successful completion of the course, the trainees provided placement support via TCS iON Job Listing Portal.

  • Applied Learning for Skill Education in Schools: A Perspective from Victoria, AustraliaThe shift in education is clear; it’s no longer about what students know, but what they can do.As India advances with NEP 2020, applied learning and skill-based education are becoming central. But the real change lies in how we teach and enable students to apply knowledge in real-world contexts. In this conversation with Dr. Madhuri Dubey, Ph.D, Founder and Director, National Skills Network-NSN, speaks with Ms. Helene Rooks, CEO of the Victorian Applied Learning Association (VALA), we explore how applied learning is transforming education in Australia, through real-world learning, vocational pathways like VCE VM, and a strong focus on future skills.Watch the full video here -

  • We often talk about innovation, future skills, and employability. But the real foundation for all of this is built much earlier, in our schools.Students from PM SHRI Demonstration Multipurpose School (DMS), Bhopal, have developed a smart multi-sensor safety system that can detect gas leaks, fire, temperature, and humidity, along with real-time alerts. What makes this noteworthy is not just the outcome, but the learning process behind it.This is what happens when students move beyond textbooks and engage in hands-on, application-based learning. They don’t just understand concepts; they apply them to solve real-world problems. It’s a reminder that when students are given the right opportunities, guidance, and environment, their potential can translate into meaningful, practical solutions. As conversations around skill education and future readiness continue to grow, there is a clear need to create more such learning experiences in schools, where curiosity, experimentation, and problem-solving are at the core.Because that is where real learning begins.#skilldevelopment #education #studentinnovation #learningbydoing #educationtransformation #STEMEducation #younginnovators
