APSSDC in association with NSDA conducts a workshop and sensitization program

APSSDC in association with NSDA conducted one-day state level workshop and sensitization program on skilling initiatives on 6 – 7th September 2018 in Vijayawada. The core objective of workshop was to create awareness about the necessity to align courses with NSQF and its importance. Senior officials of NSDA, NSDC, Skill Development Department & Youth Welfare Department, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh and APSSDC has participated in this workshop.

Mrs. Sunita Sanghi, Director General, NSDA, State Special Chief Secretary Mr. JSV. Prasad (IAS), Mr. LV. Subhramanyam (IAS), Mr. Bhanu Prakash Yetturu (IAS), Mr. Sambasiva Rao – MD&CEO of APSSDC & Dr. Vara Prasad – SEEDAP CEO, SEEDAP, DGT and representative from NSDC has shared their experiences on NSQF and skill initiatives across the country in the workshop.

APSSDC NSDA workshop1Special chief secretary, Government. of AP Mr. J S V. Prasad said that since past four years APSSDC is conducting skill development training programs for students & unemployed youth of Andhra Pradesh State. Comparatively India has most demographic dividend of younger population than other countries, by mapping/routing them in a right direction they will support to increase the economic growth in the country. APSSDC in collaboration with Siemens providing specialized skill trainings for engineering & polytechnic students. First-of-its-kind in the country, “Naipunya Vikhasham” program is providing special/additional courses in English, soft skills, computational thinking to Social and tribal welfare school’s students.

Special chief secretary, Government. of A P Mr. L V Subramanyam said that special initiatives are going to be launched on the name of “Mukya Mantri Yuva Nestham” for the unemployed youth in State. Skill development organizations/Corporations are playing the vital role by supporting & providing the skilled manpower to the Companies/Industries.

APSSDC NSDA workshopMr. Sambasiva Rao MD&CEO of APSSDC described on skill initiatives undertaken by APSSDC. He emphasized that industry relevant certification programs are being introduced to make students job ready, Mr. Rao shared that SIEMENS program is a state flagship program, a highly advance machineries are available for the students in Siemens labs. Mr. Rao also talked about the ‘3D experience centers’ by Dassualt Systemes are being setup in the state wherein high level courses in aerospace, automotive and shipbuilding sectors are being taught. Describing the approach for unemployed program students, he said, we targeted to train 8 lakhs youth in this financial year. For the engineering college students, APSSDC is providing training on certification courses from Google, Udacity, Amazon, Coursera, Autodesk, with the international collaborations. Tally, ZOHO, Amazon web services, collaborated with NSE Academy, InstaEMI is providing certification courses to the degree students.

APSSDC NSDA workshop2Mrs. Sunita Sanghi, has explained about the importance of NSQF and its valuable aspects. She advised training partners and industry players to align the curriculum as per NSQF. She also promotes the apprenticeship scheme and advised training partners to sensitize this scheme with the industries and trainees. She appreciated the skill initiatives undertaken by Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation. She urged to submit the list of NSQF non-alignment of courses with the NSDA, also assured that within two months NSQF non-aligned courses will be get approved at SSC level and accordingly, notification will be issued.

Representative of NSDA, DGT and NSDC team has also made presentation on NSQF and shared their valuable experiences with the audience. More than 350 training partners from different parts of the State were assembled in the workshop. At last, question and answer session was held wherein APSSDC, NSDA, NSDC and DGT representative has answered the queries raised by the audience.
