Top 5 highlights in skill education in India

  • The NUA Odisha Global Summit on Growth & Employment 2024, organized by OSDA and the Department of Skills and Technical Education, Odisha Government, took place on February 19-20, 2024, in Bhubaneswar. Odisha aims to become the Skill Hub for the World, empowering youth through initiatives like NUA Odisha, aligning with India’s talent and growth needs.
  • The Conference on Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurial Opportunities, organized by CII Telangana in conjunction with (Telangana Development Forum) TDF-USA, was held on February 21 to 22, 2024 at The Westin, Hyderabad. The theme of this conference was focused on transformative change in higher education. The conference agenda was designed to tackle critical issues within higher education, skill development and entrepreneurial opportunities to empower the youth.
  • The Ministry of Education has announced to introduce the initiative of 10 bagless days in schools in India where schools to focus on imparting practical knowledge and exposure to students from the industry.
  • The government of Karnataka to provide ₹15,000 stipend to 200 ST engineering graduates for vocational training in technical fields like AI and ML at IISc, IITs, or NITs.
  • Hindustan Coca-Cola in partnership with Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge to expand its campus to corporate program and equip 5K diploma students with employable skills.

  • Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment underscores the need for skill training program under PM-DAKSH Yojana for empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and extend support to meet the need required for their welfare.
  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has inaugurated the Indian Institute of Skills mentored by IIT Kanpur to train and upskill the youth in emerging technologies and various categories such as manufacturing.
  • MSDE launched Skill India Centre and Rashtriya Udyamita Vikas Pariyojana, led by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, to foster entrepreneurship and provide access to 21st-century skills. Read more…

Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) invites Expression of Interest (EOI) for Empanelment of Master Trainer and Master Assessor for Skill Development Training’s under TNSDC.
