The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) Skill Development Division is organizing a focused panel discussion under the theme, “Skilling the Shakti,” as part of the G20 EMPOWER initiative on July 26th, 2023, from 3 PM to 4:30 PM. The conference aims to shed light on the inspiring journeys of successful and exceptional women, their challenges, breakthroughs, and the crucial role of mentors. It will also provide valuable advice to young and aspiring women in the workforce.

The panel will feature distinguished women leaders who have defied the odds and achieved remarkable success. They will share their journey highlights, discussing their obstacles and how they overcame them. These stories of triumph and resilience will serve as guiding beacons for women across the nation, encouraging them to pursue their dreams fearlessly.

The significance of mentorship and guidance will also be emphasized during the discussion. Mentors play a pivotal role in empowering women, providing them with insights, support, and opportunities that can make all the difference in their careers. The panelists will underscore the importance of seeking and offering mentorship to foster growth and development in the workplace. Amidst the dynamic shifts in the work landscape, it becomes imperative to prioritize by preparing the potential women workforce for the future.

The session will focus on,

  • Strategies and approaches to better equip women for upcoming challenges
  • Skill development and upskilling programs tailored to the needs of women
  • Ensuring women are ready to adapt and thrive in dynamic job markets
  • Identifying the skills and competencies most needed in the market will be a crucial aspect of the discussion

By understanding these requirements, women workers can actively build their capabilities and position themselves as indispensable assets to employers. The panelists will highlight the high-demand skill sets, helping women sustain jobs and become drivers of economic growth.

Details about the event:

Date: 26th July 2023

Time: 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM

Venue: Conference Hall, FICCI, New Delhi

Gender equality and women’s economic empowerment are central to the vision of the G20 EMPOWER initiative. Progress in this domain has been slow, and it is imperative to foster an inclusive environment where women can participate fully in essential economic activities. The panel discussion, “Skilling the Shakti,” is a step towards realizing this vision, providing a platform to celebrate and learn from the exceptional achievements of women while charting a path towards a more equitable and prosperous future.
