The Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela (PMNAM) will be held on December 12th, 2022, in 197 locations across 25 states and union territories as part of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision to advance career opportunities for India’s youth under the Skill India Mission.

A number of local businesses have been invited to participate in the mela in order to give youth the opportunity to shape their future careers through apprenticeship training. Several companies from various sectors will participate in the event. Participating companies will have the option to meet potential apprentices on a single platform, choose applicants on the spot, and offer them a position in their company.

If you want to register and find the nearest location, please visit-  https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in/

Candidates who have completed Class 5 to Class 12 and have skill training certificates, as well as ITI Diploma holders or graduates, are eligible to apply for this apprenticeship mela. Candidates must bring three copies of their résumé, three copies of all marksheets and certificates, photo ID (Aadhaar card, driving licence, etc.), and three passport-size photographs to the respective venues.

Those who have already registered should arrive at the location with the required documents. Candidates will also acquire National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET)-recognized certifications as a result of this fair, increasing their employability following the training session.

Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela

Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, said “In terms of apprenticeship opportunities for today’s youth, India is frequently compared to other developed economies. We are doing everything we can to make apprenticeship opportunities available to trainees and students in an effort to close this gap. The potential youth who are eager to work hard, contribute to our economy, and help build the future of our country gave us a tremendous response during the apprenticeship mela last month. This program’s main goal is to persuade companies to take on more apprentices while also helping them find the right talent and help them reach their full potential through education and hands-on experience. In addition to developing viable pathways from apprenticeship to higher education, it is necessary to embed apprenticeship in the educational ecosystem. Our goal is to raise apprenticeship opportunities in India to 10 lakhs by the end of 2022, and to 60 lakhs by 2026, through our continuous efforts.”

The government strives to train 1 million youth annually through apprenticeship training, and PMNAM is being used as a platform to boost establishment and student participation in order to accomplish this goal. Additionally, it informs youth about the variety of options offered by the participating companies.
