Uttar Pradesh completes skill mapping of 14.75 lakh migrant workers: The government of Uttar Pradesh has completed the task of skill mapping of 14.75 lakh migrant workers who have returned to the state during lockdown. The skill mapping of migrant workers will help in providing employment for them.

NEAT-AICTE collaborates with Edtech startup Skill-Lync to provide technical training: NEAT-AICTE has partnered with Edtech startup Skill-Lync. Under this partnership, Skill-Lync has opened up its Rs. 50,000. worth Mechanical Engineers Essentials program to students from AICTE.

Britannia starts second edition of women startup initiative: Britannia Industries has started its second edition of startup initiative to enable homemakers become entrepreneurs. 10,000 women will go through an online skilling programme and top 10 ideas will get funding for their startup.

SpringPeople collaborates with Micro Focus: Micro Focus has announced its partnership with SpringPeople as an exclusive gold training partner to enable digital transformation in India in post-COVID-19 scenario. Micro Focus will benefit from SpringPeople’s Indian IT industry reach and wide customer base of over 750 enterprises having more than 250,000 learners.

National Career Service (NCS) partners TCS iON for providing free online skill training: National Career Service (NCS) has partnered with TCS iON to provide free-of-cost online training to job seekers. The training module is available in Hindi and English on the NCS portal.

Andhra University launched skill development courses for children of ex-army personnel to offer diploma in fire and safety engineering, foreign languages, logistics and supply chain, cybersecurity and disaster management.

Government of Odisha announces Rs. 17,000 crore livelihood package to generate employment opportunities through different sectors like agriculture, fisheries, forestry, handlooms and handicrafts; this will requirement skill development through fresh skilling and upskilling.

Of these 11 lakh employment opportunities, FICCI and IIA accounted for three lakh jobs each.

TalentSprint collaborates with IISc to launch multiple executive programs: TalentSprint has partnered with IISc to launch multiple executive programs in emerging and disruptive technologies. The six-month program will be offered in a hybrid format suitable for executive education. Applications are now open for the first cohort of select 50 candidates.

Tata Trusts collaborates with Christian Medical College and CHIS for online training of staff: Tata Trusts has collaborated with Christian Medical College and CIHS to assist their healthcare professionals to augment skills in critical care in COVID-19 management online training.

Jammu and Kashmir Polytechnics admission process revamped: The admission process of the Polytechnics colleges in Jammu and Kashmir has been revamped. The change will make things more relatable to the renewed emphasis on skill for self employment, by the Government of India.

Assam flags off pumpkin consignment to Dubai: The government of Assam has flagged off a consignment of pumpkins to Dubai to boost the economy of the state. The farmers of the State will be immensely benefited by such a move.

Data of 45.98 lakh workers captured by Rajasthan labour department: Rajasthan labour department has captured the data of 45.98 lakh workers, including eight lakh migrants, who are in dire need of jobs, amid the raging Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) outbreak that has led to a growing economic crisis in the country.  

India’s dairy sector contributes to the economy through sustainable livelihoods as milk and milk products contributed more than 20.6 per cent of the combined output of paddy, wheat and pulses in 2017. Annually, 8.4 million farmers depend on the dairy sector for their livelihoods, out of which 71 per cent are women (Agriculture Skill Council of India).

Top global companies to invest in Assam: The government of Assam has interacted with top global companies operating across the United States and India and called upon the industries to invest in Assam. The officials have been instructed to fast track all investment proposals. A dedicated team will be formed for the customized support.
