Veterans Skilling Program is a program developed for resettlement of ex-servicemen who retire after serving the Indian Armed Forces. Learning Links Foundation (LLF), a not-for-profit organization working in the domain of quality education and skill building since 2002, is implementing this project with the grant support of the Boeing Company.

This project aims to support and improve the employability prospects of ex-servicemen by providing them technical skills in domain relevant to their prior work experience. To deliver this program, LLF has partnered with BridgeNow Academy (BNA), an industry oriented technical training provider, focused on bridging the skill gap in the Aerospace and Aviation domain.

The courseware is aligned to National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) offered by AASSC under NSDC. The curriculum included soft skills training, curated and delivered by Learning Links Foundation, to prepare them for their new role in today’s corporate environment.

IAF Veterans aerospace skills training program valedictory function

The valedictory function of the Veterans Skilling Program was held at the BridgeNow Academy, at Whitefield in Bengaluru. The program provided an opportunity to these veterans from the Indian Air Force (IAF) to reskill themselves and to work directly in the area of their core competency. These air veterans have 20 plus years of experience in the aerospace and aviation domain.

The highlight of the joint initiative is that all 10 IAF veterans were also issued with offer letters to work as Aerospace Technical Publication Engineers with P3, an Engineering and Consulting organization that provides solutions to Aerospace, Defence, Automotive and Telecommunication domains. Speaking on the occasion, Peter Immanuel, CEO – BridgeNow Academy said “We are proud to be the Training Partner in this prestigious project delivered with active support from LLF and IAF. We at BridgeNow are excited to offer a tailor-made program in a niche domain to IAF veterans, who have contributed so much to this nation.”

Mr Girish, LLF Senior Partner said the program offers resettlement opportunities to the ex-defence personnel by recognising their several years of experience. I look at this course merely as a bridge between the ex-servicemen and the Industry. It also brings together the industry and the civil society for larger good of the guardians of this nation.
