Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) has collaborated with Skill Development Institute (SDI) Visakhapatnam to establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Hospitality. Under the partnership, THSC will assess and certify 120 students from SDI every year on THSC QP’s and they will be placed in industries after their training. The MoU was exchanged by K. Nagesh, CEO, SDI, General Manager, HPCL and Mr. Rajan Bahadur, CEO, THSC.

THSC’s collaboration with SDI and the MOU signing is a wonderful step to create strong imprints for the hospitality industry in the state of Andhra Pradesh, strengthening the skilling ecosystem.

An extension residential training centre of SDI for Hospitality was also inaugurated in Anakapalle. This is a unique initiative by SDI Visakhapatnam. SDI has created premier labs for Food and Beverage Steward and Room Attendant in addition to the state of art IT training labs and classrooms under this initiative.

THSCIn line with the Government of India’s National Skill Development Mission, it has been mandated to promote & set up Skill Development Institutes (SDIs) to cater to the skill development needs of various regions across the country. Skill Development Institute (SDI) Visakhapatnam is a significant move in that direction.

SDI Vishakhapattnam was set up in October 2016. The Institute caters to the unemployed youth of Andhra Pradesh and neighboring States and provides specialized short-term training in vocational trades aligned to National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). In addition to specialized technical training, SDI Visakhapatnam also facilitates and imparts training on soft skills and language proficiency to make the candidates job ready for the Indian and overseas market.
