Skill India Impact Bond by NSDC and British Asian Trust: NSDC has partnered with the British Asian Trust to launch one-of-its-kind “Skill India Impact Bond”. It is an innovative outcome-based financing instrument to encourage private sector funding and transform skilling.

MSDE exhorts states to offer courses in new-age skills: MSDE has exhorted the states to offer courses in new-age skills to ensure that skill-based courses cater to the requirements of new job roles. The aim is to keep in pace with the changing digital technology age towards building ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. Read more…

Ayush Ministry partners Invest India to set up SPFB: The Ministry of AYUSH will collaborate with M/s Invest India to set up a strategic policy unit called “Strategic Policy and Facilitation Bureau (SPFB)”. SPFB Bureau will support the ministry in strategic and policy making initiatives.

Arun Deshpande is the New India MD of TUV Rheinland: TUV Rheinland has appointed Mr. Arun Deshpande as Managing Director for India operations. He will lead the management team and will be handling some major responsibilities like project execution, innovative solutioning, implementing business growth strategies among others.

DISQ by TCS Foundation invites Startups to innovate for AgriTech: Digital Impact Square (DISQ)’s ‘DISQovery 2021’ has invited Startups to innovate for AgriTech. An early-stage startup, which is keen on growing and scaling their innovation can participate in the event before November 15.

SAHI, India’s largest gig business platform by LabourNet: LabourNet is going to build India’s Largest Gig Business Platform SAHI. It had appointed Mr Deep Mukherjee of Star (Disney India) as the CEO of SAHI. It will not only fulfill the industry’s demand for quality labour comprehensively, but also will protect workers from underpaid work, non-payment of dues, and poor quality work.

Andhra Pradesh

High-end IT skill varsity to be set-up in Visakhapatnam: The government of Andhra Pradesh is going to set up a high-end IT Skill University in Visakhapatnam. Training on AI, robotics, and other modern courses with job orientation will be provided in the university.  

Assam

ASDM relaunched to train over 26,000 candidates in 2020-21: The government of Assam has relaunched the placement linked ASDM skill training program. The program aims to train over 26,000 candidates in the year 2020-21. 

Delhi

Skill University to contribute towards preparing future entrepreneurs: Delhi Institute Of Tool Engineering, GB Pant Engineering College and and centres of ITI and skill training will be a part of the new skill and entrepreneurship university. The university will give a boost to entrepreneurship in the country. 

Goa 

Goa to implement NEP from 2021-22: NEP will be implemented in Goa from 2021-22 for nursery, Classes III, VI, and IX. The new curriculum for this is expected to come from the Union Education Ministry by December 2020.

Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir to become the most prefered tourist destination of India: The government is putting efforts to make Jammu and Kashmir India’s most prefered tourist destination. To make the vision come true, a Comprehensive Mansar Rejuvenation/Development Plan worth Rs.198.37 Crores was inaugurated through virtual mode.

Government starts skill development academy under Jammu smart City Project: The “Smart City Skill Development project” has been started by the Jammu and Kashmir administration in collaboration with the ICICI Foundation to impart skill training to 250 trainees every year.

Women empowerment through skill development training centres: The social welfare department Baramulla is running skill development training centres for women in the districts of Jammu and Kashmir to make them self-dependent. Currently, 275 unemployed girls are being trained in 11 skill development centres in the district. 

Kerala

Eco-sustainable programme Parivarthanam launched to help the fishing community: An eco-sustainable programme Parivarthanam was launched by the government of Kerala to help the fishing community in the state. It aims to improve the livelihoods of youngsters along the coastline.

Three-month online training programme on “Integrated Crop Production” concludes: A three-month online training programme on “Integrated Crop Production” by PAU was concluded. The programme focused on the skill development of students and taught them how to bring innovation in agriculture.

Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation partners Kauvery Hospital to upskill healthcare professionals: Kauvery Hospital has partnered with Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation with an aim to upskill, reskill and cross skill healthcare professionals with competencies relevant for the efficient and effective healthcare delivery.

Skill training centres for healthcare and logistics: The government of Tamil Nadu has unveiled the Tamil Nadu Apex Skill Development Centre for Healthcare and Apex Skill Development Centre for Logistics. The centres are aimed at imparting high-end skills training to employees, and achieving excellence in the healthcare and logistics sectors.
