Andhra Pradesh

New government department with name Skill Development established in Andhra Pradesh: The AP government has issued a new administrative branch named after the department of skill development and training. The department will have 75% reservation for local youth in the state-created industries, professional development and training for youth.

Arunachal Pradesh

Month-long food processing training concluded in Bomdila: The month-long food processing training under PMKVY on jam, jelly and ketchup for 60 trainees has been concluded. It was organised by Samarth Eduskill Pvt Ltd, New Delhi in partnership with M/s Yangfan Enterprises, Bomdila

Kerala

Kerala partners with TCS iON to empower youth: TCS iON has partnered with the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP), Kerala to empower the youth with new-age, future-ready skills to meet industry needs.

Madhya Pradesh

2000 MW solar power park to be set up in Bundelkhand and Chambal: The Government of Madhya Pradesh is going to start a 2000 MW solar power park in the Bundelkhand and Chambal regions. The purpose of the plant is to increase the state’s production of renewable energy.

Maharashtra

Nashik to benefit from Skill India’s SANKALP: Nashik has been selected as one of the beneficiaries for SANKALP .The district skill committee will prepare a programme to provide training for people in various sectors.The district committee has formed five groups to train unemployed or youth with special focus on the deprived classes.

Odisha

Project Neelachala launched by L&T as a part of CSR initiative: To provide disaster resilient shelter homes to those affected by Cyclone Fani, L&T Technology Service Limited launched Project Neelachal. As a part of the program, LTTS will provide skill development program for resident in various construction activities.

Punjab

Skill development workshop held for women and self-help groups: To enhance the skills of women in different fields like dairy development and mushroom cultivation, a training workshop was organised in Jalandhar. The workshop was organised under the Sankalp project of Punjab Skill Development.

Tamil Nadu

Skill development marathon in Chennai: To create awareness about skill development among the youth, the RCC Magnum Foundation has come up with a project of skill development under PMKVY of Skill India.  A marathon was organised for the same in Chennai where above 100 people participated.

Tripura

Tea workers to be skilled up under PMKVY: Tea plantation workers’ training has started to provide skill training to the Tea workers under PMKVY at Ramdurlabhpur Tea Estate in Kamalpur, Tripura. Total 800 tea workers would be trained under the program to boost skills.

Uttarakhand

Skill development, entrepreneurship centre to be inaugurated in Uttarakhand: Uttarakhand is going to have a Centre of Excellence for skilling in Uttarkashi area. MSDE will send a dedicated team of experts to Uttarakhand to discuss new avenues for promotion of skill development and entrepreneurship.

MESC launched skill development programme in Hyderabad: MESC launched RPL in Hyderabad. The programme will be for dancers, actors, scriptwriters, sound editors, marketing managers, community journalists, graphic designers. After training, they will get a government-recognised certificate, Rs 500 as reward money and 2 lakh as accidental insurance.

PayNearby collaborated with TRRAIN to celebrate Retail Employees’ Day: PayNearby has partnered with TRRAIN to celebrate Retail Employees’ Day 2019 on 12th December. The company has launched the #HaathBadhao, thank you keh jao’ campaign to recognize and acknowledge the efforts for every retailer in the neighborhood. https://nationalskillsnetwork.in/paynearby-partners-with-trrain-to-commemorate-retail-employees-day/

VLCC to set up manufacturing and skilling units in south India: VLCC is planning to set up a new manufacturing unit, more wellness centres and skilling institutes besides establishing first of its kind medical spas. VLCC has 100  skilling institutes across 28 states.

50,000 MSMEs to be trained by Walmart: Through the Walmart Vriddhi initiatives, Walmart International is planning to train 50,000 MSMEs in India over the next five years. The first training centre is scheduled to be opened in MArch 2020. This will give MSMEs hands on training and access to local and global supply chains.

Bharathidasan University makes it to four world record books: By enrolling more than 1.40 lakh Tamil Nadu school students for skill development programmes, Bharathidasan University has made it to four world record books. The university achieved world records citation from four academies in the world, Elite World Records (USA), Asian Records Academy (Singapore and UAE), India Records Academy. The institute has enrolled more than one lakh students in its skill development courses.

LSC organised seminar on growth of logistics: The LSC organised a seminar on ‘the growth of logistic industry in India and career opportunities for future generations’ in collaboration with GITAM Hyderabad Business School

Teachers from 15,000 schools take part in the 5th annual TOP: The 5th edition of annual Teaching Professionals’ Olympiad (TPO) has been organised by CENTA where teachers from 15,000 schools across the country took part. This kind of national-level competition helps the teachers with self-reflection and strength assessment.
