Centum launches two PMKKs in Haryana and one in Madhya Pradesh

Centum, in partnership with MSDE and NSDC, launched two state-of-the-art Model Training Centre (MTC), called Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) at Jind and Fatehabad in Haryana. Shri Ramesh Chander Kaushik, Hon. Member of Parliament, Sonipat constituency inaugurated the centre in Jind in the august presence of dignitaries including Shri Dharampal Malik, BJP member, Sonipat; Shri Amit Khatri, District Commissioner, Jind; Shri O. P Pehal, President, Steel Corporation of India, Jind; Shri Shivam Tiwari, DPM – HSRLM, Jind; Shri Mukesh, Project officer, NULM, Jind; Shri Trilochan Saini, Senior Manager- NABARD – Jind and Shri Parveen, Senior Manager- NULM – Jind. At Fatehabad, the Chief Guest was Mr. Charanjeet Singh Rori, Honorable Member of Parliament from Sirsa. Other dignitaries who graced the occasion at Fatehabad were Mr. A.C. Sardana, District Finance Manager, HSRLM, Fatehabad and Mr. Gulab Singh, Principal, Govt. School Fatehabad. Both centres are fully geared to mobilize youth in Haryana to make them employable and work ready. The centres will comprise classrooms, state-of-the-art labs and recreation zones besides libraries.

In Madhya Pradesh, Centum launched a PMKK in Khandwa. Shri Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan representing Khandwa constituency and State BJP President, Madhya Pradesh inaugurated the centre. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Shri Devendra Verma, MLA Khandwa and Shri Subhash Kothari, Mayor Municipal Corporation Khandwa. The centre spanning over 15,000 sq. ft comprises 7 class rooms, labs and a counselling cum placement cell which will offer several employability linked courses over 1000 candidates.

Centum has been rigorously conducting Job Fairs across centres, the most recent ones being at PMKK Jind.

The fair was inaugurated by Mr.Naveen Kumar, District Finance Manager, Office of Additional Deputy Manager, Jind and  Mr. Sunil Kumar as Block Program Manager, Jind along with members of Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission(HSRLM). The candidates participated with great enthusiasm and sat through gruelling interview sessions by noteworthy companies which included Samsung Care, Vodafone Care, ISON, Dr ITM Ltd and Healers At Home. Over 200 candidates received offer letters from the Jind centre itself.

Centum Foundation launched a report on ‘Experiences of Deaf Employees in India’.

Centum Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Centum Learning, launched a report on ‘Experiences of Deaf Employees in India’ at an event themed ‘Creating Inclusion for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs)’ in New Delhi to highlight the challenges faced by deaf at their workplaces in India. The bilingual (written English and videos signed in Indian Sign language) survey done by Centum GRO, an initiative of Centum Foundation to empower the Deaf in India, reflects the limited opportunities for the deaf, challenges due to limited accessibility and employers being unaware about creating inclusive spaces for the deaf. The report was launched by Ms. Dolly Chakraborty, Joint Secretory, Department of Empowerment for Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment who was the Chief Guest at the event. A panel discussion was also conducted on ‘Creating an Inclusive Workplace’ which was moderated by Shrikant Sinha, CEO – NASSCOM Foundation. Some of the key panelists in the session were – Mr. D.K. Panda, Under Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment; Ms. Aradhana Lal, VP Sustainability Head, Lemon Tree Hotels; Mr. Sanjaya Pradhan, Lead – Affirmative Actions, NSDC, Mr. Rajat Sachdeva, Alumnus, Centum GRO Initiative now employed with Boeing India Pvt. Limited and Ms. Sharmishthaa Atreja, Professor, Delhi University.

Centum Foundation partnered with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to implement the CSR mandate of Simon India.

The centre of Skilling for Persons with Disabilities – Orthopaedic (PWD) was inaugurated in the august presence of Prakash Sharma, CFO, NSDC and Juhi Yasmin, Centre Auditor, NSDC at Centum Foundation Skilling Centre in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The programme will train around 50 orthopedically disabled students in Data Entry operator course, which has high demand in job market. The trainees will be skilled in soft skills, interview skills, communication skills, English language training etc.
