Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU) is the first Government Skill University which delivers Post Graduate Diploma in Aerospace Structural Design. They help engineers in gaining proficiency by understanding advanced subjects like Aerospace Materials, Design Techniques, Design Optimization, Design Customization, Aircraft Interiors and other structural support components.
Highlights of the Advanced Aerospace Engineering training partnership between Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU) and BridgeNow Academy
- The program covers functional aspects such as hand calculations, GD&T, fits and tolerances critical to building quality designs.
- The program also cover usage of design representation tools, which are used extensively for Aerospace structure design.
Mr. Charles G Martin, who is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the area of Aerospace Structural Design was deputed to deliver the training program to 10 students who are currently undergoing the PGD program in Aerospace Structural Design at SVSU, in the city of Gurgaon.
The participants were a good mix of urban and rural background who have been backed by extension of scholarships from Government of Haryana through SVSU. The SME from BrideNow Academy who reached the NCR on 17th November was extended a perfect environment to help him prepare for the sessions in advance.
The training program started on 18th November with participants getting trained in the following areas:
- Investigating the previous and current Aerospace Structure design
- Creating a new prototype and check of deviation in the existing design
- Analysing the Aerospace Structural design
- Optimizing the design according to the stress team recommendation
Although this training program was extremely intense with 45 hours of skill training delivered within a span of just 6 days, the students and the SME took this as a challenge upon themselves and achieved the desired results.
The students are now equipped with advanced skills in the area of Aerospace Structural Design and are now planned to travel to Bangalore to undergo ‘On the Job Training’ at umlaut in the area of Aerospace Structural Design starting from Jan 2020. OJT is for a duration of 6 months which will be followed by placement assistance to all the candidates.
Today, the industry is looking for skilled candidates to support the delivery of projects. The partnership of BNA and SVSU to deliver such value-added programs will benefit not only the trained candidates, but also help the organization who can absorb these skilled candidates with zero lead time directly into live projects.
