iMOVE Germany, in collaboration with National Skills Network-NSN is organizing the second webinar from the series titled ‘NEP 2020 – The Game Changer for Indo-German Collaboration.’

This webinar series aims to unite institutions and organizations from the TVET and skill education ecosystems in India and Germany to catalyze new collaboration ideas and unlock the potential of NEP 2020 for innovative, mutually rewarding partnerships between the two countries.

NEP 2020 – The Game Changer for Indo-German Collaboration

The National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) envisions education as a pathway to sustainable employment and gainful livelihoods. With its transformative approach to school-level and higher education, NEP 2020 considers the socio-economic and historical context of education, offering groundbreaking recommendations to meet youth aspirations.

NEP 2020 - the game changer for Indo German collaboration

Supported by the Government of India and various state governments, technical training and higher education institutions in Germany have an opportunity to explore innovative collaborations with Indian institutions. NEP 2020 stands as a catalyst for strategic and sustainable partnerships between Germany and India in TVET, skill development, and work-integrated learning. The transformative potential of the policy opens new avenues for:

  • Mainstreaming vocational education through skill integration in schools and colleges, promoting apprenticeships.
  • Restructuring UG–PG programs with flexible formats, incorporating work-integrated learning.
  • Revamping curriculum and pedagogy to align with industry demands and enhance international compatibility.
  • Internationalization of higher education by welcoming top global universities to establish International Branch Campuses (IBCs) in India.
  • New opportunities for exchange programs, fellowships, and funding.
  • Focus on green technologies, Industry 4.0, AI-enabled industry solutions, and more.

This provides new opportunities for German institutions to explore and engage with their Indian counterparts.

  • COL-CEMCA Conducts Three-Day Workshop on Graduate Employability at YCMOU, Nashik, MaharashtraDr. Madhuri Dubey, Founder-Director, NSN, facilitated the workshop as a part of the Commonwealth of Learning - Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CoL-CEMCA) Project on enhancing graduate employability by integrating appropriate skills into the curriculum.The workshop was organized by CoL-CEMCA in collaboration with Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU), Nashik, from 10th to 12th March, 2026, at the YCMOU campus in Nashik, Maharashtra under the guidance of Dr. B. Shadrach, Director, CEMCA and Dr Jane Agbu , Adviser Higher Education, Commonwealth of Learning.
The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Sanjeev Sonawane, honourable Vice-Chancellor, YCMOU, and coordinated by Dr. Amol Shirfule, Director i/c, Yash Center for Innovation, Incubation and Linkages and Dr. Nagarjun Wadekar, Director, School of Social Sciences and Humanities, YCMOU.As a part of the comprehensive Graduate Employability Project, the workshop brought together academic leaders representing different schools of specialization, course coordinators, and faculty members from YCMOU to strengthen curriculum design with a focus on employability skills and industry relevance.The workshop emphasised the transition from traditional content-driven teaching to outcome-based education using the Results-Based Management (RBM) Framework.
