India’s economy is supported by two essential pillars: academia and industry. A strong partnership between the two will bode well for our rising economy, allowing for innovation, educational advancement, and the production of job-ready workers.

Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF) has been pioneering in providing industry-relevant technical training to students for the last six decades. And one of the main reasons for the institute’s success over these years is its strong linkage with the industry.

In order to address all the challenges of today’s rapidly changing nature of jobs, NTTF has collaborated with leading industries to provide experience-based learning to the students.

“At Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF), we are seamlessly adopting new technologies as a part of our training and more importantly collaborating with leading industries in the field of technology. NTTF today has joint certification/agreement and centre of excellence in many leading technologies like: CISCO for Cyber Security, Intel for IOT and ML, Siemens for Automation, Fanuc Robotics, AWS for Cloud computing and UI path for RPA among others” – B. V. Sudharshan, Deputy Managing Director, NTTF

This article talks about the top 5 ways NTTF is leveraging their strong industry partnership to prepare an industry-ready workforce. Read on to know more

Industry-academia collaboration: Here are 5 ways NTTF leverages the partnership

A strong industry connection has always been an integral part of NTTF’s success for the last 60 years. And the institute has always put its best foot forward to leverage the strong industry connection for the benefit of its students. Here are 5 ways NTTF is leveraging its industry linkage to prepare a future-ready workforce.

Understanding the industry’s skill requirements

NTTF’s partnership with the leading industries is helping the institute to understand the current skill needs of the industries.

“NTTF has the ability to be relevant to the times and the industry. They always strive to implement newer technologies, low-cost automation inputs in their workshops and labs. We both believe in doing and demonstrating” says Ms. Sampada Inamdar, VP and Group Learning Head, ANAND Group India talking about the reason behind their strong partnership with NTTF.

NTTF’s Academic Council take feedback from their alumni as well as from the industry every six months and aligns their curriculum to the current industry requirements.

In an interview with our team, Capt. Amitabh, Head – Skill Development, Tata Steel said, “We are partners with NTTF for the last 13 years. The best thing about NTTF is that they are agile enough to come up with new ideas and strategies to successfully deliver the technical training as per industry demand. It is one of the oldest institutes in terms of technical training and known for its quality training.”

Attaining a 100 percent placement rate

NTTF has a 100 percent placement rate as their students are well prepared for the industry requirements. As the students are well-prepared for all the challenges, industries are eager to hire them. Also, the performance of NTTF alumni in the industries is one of the driving forces for their strong industry partnership. https://nationalskillsnetwork.in/insights-from-more-than-50-years-of-combined-service-in-industry-and-technical-training/

Enhancing students’ hands-on practical knowledge

NTTF prepares an industry-ready workforce by providing them with a platform to enhance their hands-on practical knowledge through various initiatives.

Learn and Earn program by NTTF is an innovative and industry popular program that aims to bridge the industry-academia gap with industry-relevant courses through on-the-job training (OJT).

The Learn and Earn programme by NTTF has been designed in such a way that it benefits both the industry and the children who come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, those who live in rural areas, and those who live in industrially underdeveloped areas.

Helping the industry upskill their employees

Apart from making their student’s industry ready, NTTF also helps the industry upskill their employees.

“NTTF also helps us with our bridge programs which we organize for the capacity building of the students coming from the marginalized sections of the society. Through these bridge programs, instead of diluting the standards for intake, we focus on building the capacity of the students”, said Capt. Amitabh, Head – Skill Development, Tata Steel in an interview with team NSN.

NTTF has always worked to close the gap between the nation’s demand and the supply of skilled labour. It also addresses India’s increasing technology reskilling challenges. Thousands of youth and working professionals have benefited from NTTF’s work-integrated programs, which are implemented in close partnership with the industry. This will be the case in the future as well.
