Over 1.35 Lakh Yoga Trainers Certified Under Skill India Mission
In celebration of the 10th International Yoga Day, MSDE, alongside its partner organizations, led a vibrant yoga camp at Kaushal Bhawan, New Delhi. The theme, “Yoga for Self and Society,” emphasized yoga’s dual role in enhancing individual health and fostering societal well-being.
Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge), that over 1.35 lakh yoga trainers have been trained and certified under the Skill India Mission. This achievement underscores the ministry’s commitment to promoting wellness and empowering individuals with valuable skills. Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra are among the top states contributing to this initiative with the highest number of certified trainers.
India-Australia Collaboration in Agricultural Skills Development
The MSDE, in collaboration with the Government of Australia, hosted a productive roundtable discussing the outcomes of the Australia-India Critical Agriculture Skills Pilot Project.
The project identified and developed training for five critical emerging job roles in the agriculture sector:
- Digital Agriculture Extension Promoter
- Carbon Farming Practitioner
- Livestock Green Management Promoter
- Organic Farm & Business Promoter
- Integrated Farming Practitioner
Implemented across Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana, these pilot projects align with Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on climate action, quality education, and industry innovation. The collaboration aims to modernize and ensure sustainability in India’s agriculture sector, reinforcing the vital role of agriculture in food security and employment.
Enhancing ITIs and NSTIs Through Blended Learning and Industry Collaboration
Shri Jayant Chaudhary conducted a comprehensive review of the Directorate General of Training (DGT) operations, emphasizing the need for modernization and innovation within Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs). Advocating for blended learning, Shri Chaudhary urged for increased industry collaboration through Flexi MoU partnerships and the Dual System of Training.
