Success Stories of Skilled Women from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, TISS – SVE

Kalyani, Trainer

TISS_TR_KALYANI“I am Kalyani hailing from the southern town of Theni in Tamilnadu. Raised in a conservative family and being the daughter of a businessman I always had an aspiration of being independent in all aspects of life.

My interest in acquiring knowledge motivated me to take up a career in “ THE HINDU” as a Resource Personnel for NIE Programs to be conducted in schools from the year 2010.

This threw open a big challenge in dealing with children from different levels of society when conducting workshops in public and private schools. The focus was more on training children on various models of good communication.

Having overcome this challenge successfully, I had observed that the base of training skills obtained cannot be further expanded without a proper qualification pertaining to the same. It was at this juncture Mr Eashwer Murthy of M/s CEO Skill Foundation advised me to take up a course in M/s Indian Society of Training & Development. According to his advice I successfully completed the same in the year 2016 and then took up internship with M/s CEOSFPL in their TATA Institute of Social Sciences for BVoc Programs for Corporate Sector which is a product of 5 stake holders namely TISS , SKP , HUB , VA and STUDENTS . This gave me a wider picture regarding knowledge and scope for rapid improvements through continuous learning opportunities..

B.Voc Program focuses mainly on the various areas of gap that is required to be bridged between the skilled and unskilled so as to enable the employees and students to co-ordinate better as a team in addition to acquiring employability skills .

The core focus was on developing a communication system “ Understand to be Understood” in line with Steven Covey’s 7 Habits of highly effective people , in an organization so as to enhance the level of confidence and harmony within a aepartment, group etc. As a Trainer for Communication skills & English I worked with big corporates like M/s Modine Thermal Systems & M/s Hinduja Foundries Limited., and many more in the pipeline such as M/S Orchid Chemicals , M/S Schwing stetter , M/S Visteon etc.

I am certain that during this voyage of learning and sharing , I will come across many interesting people-centric and process-centric interventions which will make me more mature and I shall contribute my best to this nation building mission and grow along with these programs.”
