TASK partners Tata STRIVE for faculty development and skilling of youth

Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) has been in the forefront for equipping college teachers with industry-specific knowledge and skills. The need for developing teaching faculty to be aware of the industry is a major step towards making education relevant and current. In this connection, TASK has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata STRIVE for collaborating on faculty development and youth skill development programs.

On 3rd February 2017, Tata STRIVE and Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK), signed an agreement to partner on coaching the college lecturers and to offer youth skill development courses based on industry-specific needs. This will help in increasing the teaching impact and increase employability of youth in the state, particularly in automotive, BFSI and BPO sectors.

TASK Tata STRIVE MoUSpeaking on the occasion, Ms. Anita Rajan, COO, Tata STRIVE, said “’We are looking forward to this partnership with TASK that will help improve the lives of youth by strengthening their employability and entrepreneurship opportunities. We are confident that our industry relevant student courses designed by experts along with the world class curriculum for up skilling faculty will give the much needed fillip to the youth of Telangana and help them to realize their true potential.

Mr. Sujiv Nair, CEO, TASK emphasised that this partnership focuses on improving facilitation skills for faculty that will enhance their teaching impact and specific skill courses in the Automotive, BFSI and BPO sector for the unemployed youth.

Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) was established by the Government of Telangana for skilling the youth in the state and improve synergies between the key stakeholders: the government, industry and academia. Over 500 colleges in the Telangana state are registered with TASK and it offers skilling programs for students and faculty in line with industry requirement.

Tata STRIVE is committed to developing capacity to train youth for gaining employment, entrepreneurship and community enterprise. Tata STRIVE aims to reach out to a large number of youth with its training programmes which are of high quality. The focus of the training is equally on technical and non-technical skills with a special emphasis on practical experience for enhancing productivity, imbibing quality and ensuring safety. Its unique youth development modules prepare youth to face the challenges of the workplace and be able to manage themselves with confidence. It has invested in processes that match individuals with their interests, created a technology platform that manages the entire skilling value chain from registration to placement of a student.
