With an aim to nurture an ecosystem that empowers women in tech, TalentSprint in collaboration with Google is going to launch the third cohort of the Women Engineers (WE) program on 1st March 2021 at 5 PM.

Today in India, only 26% of the IT workforce comprises women with the majority of them under the age of 30. For many women, technology is not the first choice when it comes to building a sustainable and rewarding career. The reasons for which are many.

So to encourage women and to bring in diversity and gender balance, many MNCs are making conscious efforts through various programs and initiatives. TalentSprint’s Women Engineers program which is supported by Google is one such initiative.

Through the program, TalentSprint aims to nurture 500 first-year women engineering students from non-elite engineering colleges nationwide to accelerate gender diversity and socio-economic inclusion. Women engineers from less privileged backgrounds will get the opportunity to excel in the field of technology. Most of the participants in the program are first-generation college-goers and more than 60% have an annual income of less than USD $4500.

Students from the first cohort have already graduated and got high-end premium job offers from many companies. Currently, the second cohort is in progress.

As the third cohort is about to begin, it is crucial for the students of the future cohort to know how their experience was. It will give the students an idea about what to expect from the program and will help them understand the program better.

“Right from the start, the WE program helped me bridge the gap between a student and a professional. I’m a more confident person and don’t hesitate before stepping out of my comfort zone and this program has definitely changed my career path for the better”, says Tanya Mittal from Delhi who got internship opportunities to form Goldman Sachs.
