Mr. Kothakatu Manoj Kumar is from Kasipet village of Mancherial district of Telangana. He lost his father when he was two years old and his mother took charge of family. She resorted to tailoring to earn a livelihood. He completed his intermediate and was unable to continue education because of financial problems. He used to work in a Mineral water plant as a water supply boy and was getting a salary of INR. 6000 per month. The nature of job was very hard and the salary was not commensurate. He was exploring other possibilities for his career. He got information on the vocational training centre at airport campus from his friends and joined the “Excavator Operator” course. He is going to complete the training by November, 2018 and GMRVF will assist him in finding a suitable placement opportunity. He is happy with the training provided and dreams of excelling in his field of work in the future.

Ms. Peddagandi Swapna could not clear her SSC exam and was unable to continue her education, due to certain problems being faced by her family. She is from Shamshabad village in Telangana. Her father had passed away when she was very young and her elder brother is supporting the family working as a daily wage labourer. She was exploring possibilities to support her family by doing some job when she got information about GMR Varalakshmi Foundation training centre and about Sewing Machine Operator course. She took admission in SMO course and after completing the course she wants to work in a garment factory to support her family. After getting sufficient experience in factory, she wants to start her own enterprise.

Mr. Chirra Nitin comes from an agricultural family. He failed his intermediate exam and stopped education due to financial problems of his family. His father has passed away and the family is supported by his mother. He used to do agriculture works along with his mother to get some income. He got information about Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) course at GMR Varalakshmi Foundation training centre and joined the. His future plan is to become a Senior AC technician.

Ms. E. Kalpana is from Maddur village, Shabad mandal in Rangareddy district of Telangana and has completed her SSC. Her father is suffering from severe health problems and he is unable to work anymore. The responsibility of the family has come on her mother’s shoulders. Her mother was working as an agricultural labourer to support the family. After Kalpana’s SSC, she used to go agriculture work along with her mother. She got information about Domestic Data entry operator training course at GMR Varalakshmi Foundation and joined the training program. After completion of the course, GMRVF will assist her in finding a suitable placement opportunity. She wants to continue her education in Open University and wants to become a software engineer in the future.
