India is teeming with a plethora of youths and their collective energy is the thing on which the future of our nation depends largely. The young people are the source of the vital energy and their ideas hold much value apropos of modern context. But the major tragedy with them is that they represent a generation borne out of ennui and lethargy. The fierce competitive atmosphere has taken a huge toll on the dreams of so many talented people out there. Their aspirations are slumped and crushed beneath the several expectations of their kin.

Everyone yearns to reach the zenith of success. Each one of us desires to be catapulted to prosperity and fame. But ask yourself, “Are you prepared to achieve it?”

We go to schools, mug up the subjects, opt for a stream at the +2 level, go ahead and join the rat race, cram and pass the examinations and land ourselves into somehow getting our dream job. But the most important question which arises here is that how many of us actually skilled enough to spearhead the development of our nation. The answer would be a vague one. The reason behind is that we are so much engrossed in earning grades and minting money that we fail to churn ourselves.

Learning vocational skills and training oneself in different realms is equally important. We have a lot many engineers in India but more than 50% of them lack the skills good enough to be employed in an organization. People have marks, but not the practical knowledge of what they are learning. It is a pathetic state of the country where its powerhouse is draining itself in mindless activities instead of bearing down on brushing up their abilities.

It is an alarming situation when we should rise and be vigilant to the demands of our future. Enhance your capabilities and sharpen your intellect young people; our India wants it. Be skilled and add significance to your role in the country’s development. Be skilled and add meaning to your existence.

Many Academic Institutions, Hospitals, Banks, Firms and Software Companies have soared up earning billions; while many of them can break even; while, yet there are many others who have shut down altogether. So, what makes these ‘Exceptional’ billionaires move up the ladder of success in spite of the rapid changes happening in the global market?

Well! The answer lies in how well you adapt to change and upskill yourself to meet the needs of the global market. Change is inevitable! Those who embrace it, ‘grow’; those who don’t ‘perish’. In today’s fast-changing technological world, information is at the fingertips. Keeping yourselves updated with the required skills is not an option but a mandate. The strategies you applied in business a year ago may or may not apply now because the business needs of your clients have changed. If you want yourself to be heard and seen, then update your skills and make it relevant to the job to achieve success or you may end up becoming jobless.

Technology has been generating skilled scientists, engineers, doctors, technicians overtime leaving a scenario evolved from adopting, adapting and adept to the confines of Materialism, with faded stains of ‘relevant aptitude’ calling for an immediate repair. Introspection on “what you would like to do and what you would like to be” would be an elementary stride towards breaking the facades of conventional irrelevant stereotypes. Parents scamper from door to door seeking experts’ words to expertise their offspring in their careers, obliterating on the significance of such pallid polishing of such budding little lives. A flower bearing plant only watered devoid essential manures for a fit survival wither too soon. An insight into the relevance of being human than becoming one delineates a complete man dexterous in humanity and efficacy in job.

There is no doubt that a tough Life tempers and also polishes sprouting warriors for a better tomorrow but an installation of values along with education adds to the zest and zeal of an impending future. The purpose of training is to tighten up the slack, toughen the body and polish the spirit. The current education system does not focus on instilling employable skills preparing students for a job. Parents and teachers should spare time and space to apprehend with every child’s dreams, with every child’s interests purveying the same extinguishing the trend of imposing others interests thus evolving a generation smothered with the anxiety of a competitive era. A generation fabricated as per their own dreams do not expire easily when exhibiting relevance and genuineness of this very priceless breath!
