in Government, News

The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission was launched through a video conference by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The mission entails not only the development of a unique health ID for each individual but also the creation of a digital registration of healthcare practitioners and institutions.

The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission would connect hospitals across the country’s digital health solutions. The Mission will not only make medical processes easier to understand, but it will also make life easier for everyone. The Digital Ecosystem will also enable a variety of other services, such as digital consultations, patient consent to allow medical practitioners access to their records, and so on. Because every record would be stored digitally, old medical records will not be lost as a result of the deployment of this plan.

The Prime Minister, speaking on the occasion, stated that the fight to strengthen health facilities, which has been ongoing for the past seven years, is now entering a new phase. The Prime Minister stated, “Today, we are launching a mission that has the potential to create a revolutionary shift in India’s health facilities.”

There is no such large connected infrastructure anywhere in the world, according to the Prime Minister, with 130 crore Aadhaar numbers, 118 crore mobile subscribers, about 80 crore internet users, and roughly 43 crore Jan Dhan bank accounts. This digital infrastructure is bringing everything to the common Indian in a timely and transparent manner, from ration to administration (Ration to Prashasan). The Prime Minister stated, “The way technology is being leveraged in governance reforms today is unparalleled.”

The Prime Minister remarked that the Arogya Setu app helped a lot in preventing the spread of corona infection. He lauded Co-WIN for its role in making India achieve a record administration of about 90 crore vaccine doses today, under the free vaccine campaign.

Ayushman Bharat Digital MissionContinuing on the theme of the employment of technology in health, the Prime Minister stated that during the Corona period, there was an unprecedented expansion of telemedicine, with nearly 125 crores worth of remote consultations done through e-Sanjeevani. This facility, according to the Prime Minister, connects thousands of compatriots living in far-flung corners of the country with doctors from large city hospitals every day while they are at home.

Ayushman Bharat – Digital Mission, according to the Prime Minister, would now connect the digital health solutions of hospitals across the country. He went on to say that the Mission would not only simplify hospital processes, but also make life easier for people. Every citizen will now receive a digital health ID, and their health records will be digitally protected as a result of this.

The Prime Minister stated that India is working on a holistic and inclusive health paradigm. A model that emphasises preventive healthcare and easy, economical, and accessible treatment in the event of disease. He also mentioned historic improvements in health education, claiming that India now has a much bigger number of doctors and par medical manpower than it did 7-8 years ago.

In the country, a complete network of AIIMS and other contemporary health facilities is being developed, with plans to establish one medical college in each of the three Lok Sabha constituencies. He also mentioned the importance of developing health services in villages, stating that primary health centre networks and wellness centres are being built in the villages. According to the Prime Minister, over 80 thousand such centres have already been operationalized.
