NTTF distributes 10,000 face masks for free to fight Coronavirus

The unprecedented outbreak of the COVID-19 is challenging the entire world. India is trying its best to cope with the crisis using many innovative ways. The entire nation is lending a helping hand to fight the pandemic. The Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF), a 60 years old Bengaluru based Skilling & Training Institute is distributing free of cost face masks to fight Coronavirus. 

The institute has created an unique training course to fight the Coronavirus pandemic. NTTF is conducting a Stitching Training Course in Bageshwar, Uttarakhand for 27 widows, wives and daughters of India’s ex-soldiers since 11th March 2020. The course is being conducted by NTTF’s implementation partner, Brisk Olive Business Solutions Private Limited. 

NTTF is continuing the training program through online mediums during this lockdown. It is using various online mediums such as videos, Whatsapp and mobile calls. The unprecedented situation has given a boost to online learning through digital media. It also quickly modified the syllabus to train the ladies to stitch reusable cotton face masks & provided cloth to the ladies and paid them to quickly stitch 10,000 face masks.

To help stop the spread of coronavirus in these remote areas, NTTF has distributed 5000 of these masks in Bageshwar, Kanda, Kapkot and Garud. It is planning to move the remaining 5000 masks, with government permission, to distribute in corona hotspots in Bengaluru and other hot spots.

NTTF has helped meet three different objectives at the same time. The skilling initiative has provided skill training to widows, wives and daughters of defence veterans. The training program helped them earn in these difficult times. The training will help these participants to earn a living in future. NTTF also helped the nation fight COVID-19 by providing free  masks to the needy in remote areas. 

The Stitching Training Programme has been held at Mandalsera, Bageshwar since 11th March 2020. The conduct of the programme and distribution of face masks has been executed through Brisk Olive Business Solutions Pvt Ltd, a company headed and run by ex-defence persons.

The face masks have been distributed by Captain Liladhar Bachkheti, Subedar Harish Singh Mehta and a team of volunteer ex-soldiers of Bageshwar area.
