• Aiming to enhance the learning outcomes in India, the government of India will focus on the development of quality e-content for all classes from Pre-Primary to Class 12^th.
• “PM Shri schools” will be established by the government to prepare students for the future which will also be a laboratory for new NEP.

• With an objective to offer skill loans to students and create sustainable livelihood, NSDC has collaborated with SATYA MicroCapital Ltd., Under the partnership, INR 1000 Crore worth of Skill Loans announced by SATYA MicroCapital Ltd. for the students enrolled with NSDC’s network of training partners.
•  As operators prepare for 5G services, job openings in the Telecom sector may double in the ongoing fiscal year to 38,000.
• At the launch of the CCTV Technician Training and Certification programme “Surveillance Unmasked,” ESSCI and GMES signed an MoU. The partnership aims to provide skill development training to CCTV Security System Technicians.
• To excite school students’ interest in the automotive industry, ASDC has partnered with NPOCA for its flagship programme, the ASDC National Automobile Olympiad.

Skill development news from the academia

• With the goal of expanding wireless and communication linked technologies in India in mind, AICTE plans to develop a platform that will provide skill training in areas such as wireless power, broadband 5G, digital signs, robots and drone technologies, and more.
• A platform to offer creative solutions to students for career planning and skill-building was launched by Aaj Tak called ‘Aaj Tak Campus’ (ATC).

• As India has become an emerging land for technical education over the past decade, AICTE is yet to launch a programme, called ‘ABCDEFGHI.’ It is to teach youngsters the ABCs of upcoming, future technologies.
• With the objective to help aspirants to set up enterprises according to the market demand, DSEU has partnered with SIDBI to extend Mission Swavalamban to skilled youth through entrepreneurial education.

Skill development news from the states

• Andhra Pradesh – The foundation stone has been laid by Rajya Sabha MP and former Union minister Suresh Prabhu for the skill development centre on the premises of government ITI in Gajuwaka, Visakhapatnam. 
• Goa – In order to support Startups, the Government of India has selected AIC-GIM Foundation to disburse Seed Funds to Startups. It will disburse approximately Rs five crores to about 16 certified Startups including Goa-based Startups. 
• Gujarat – For the first time in the country, drone pilots will be awarded certificates. The state’s skill development and labour and employment departments have started courses for drone instructors.
• Haryana – With an aim to train 10,000 Haryana youth for gainful employment opportunities, M3M Foundation launched its iMpower Academy for Skills. After the completion of the course, M3M Foundation will provide placement and entrepreneurship opportunities.
• Karnataka – ISDC and stakeholders in the UK are planning to collaborate together in Karnataka. Hence, ISDC will be hosting the Karnataka Education Innovation Conference in Bengaluru.
• Madhya Pradesh 
  • Focusing on providing the latest technologies to ITI trainees in Bhopal, an ITI-industry linkage meet was organised.
  • To enhance the skill development capacity, the Madhya Pradesh government has given a nod to set up two new ITIs in Jaora and Piploda towns.

• Maharashtra 
• • Maharashtra government will now allow for choice-based lateral entry to ITI graduates who want to progress into the second year of Polytechnics.
  • To boost the economy in the country, the RSS-affiliated Swadeshi Jagran Manch said it would set up ‘entrepreneurship development centres’ in all 773 districts of the country.
  • The latest vocational training centre has been inaugurated by Sarthak Educational Trust to skill specially-abled people based on their capabilities.
• Odisha – Students from the Berhampur Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Odisha’s Ganjam district designed and installed a solar tree on their campus. The benefit of such a construction is that it takes up less room and may be erected anyplace near a structure.
• Uttarakhand – To bridge the skill gap in AI and Machine Learning, IIT Roorkee has joined hands with Deloitte to deliver programmes in these fields.
