NSDC releases notice for PMKVY training centres to combat the spread of COVID-19

In the wake of the current surge in COVID-19 cases across the country, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has released a notice to reiterate that all the training centres should ensure COVID appropriate norms are followed in their respective centres.

As COVID-19 cases are rapidly increasing in the country, the notice has been issued with an aim to continue skill development training in the country without risking the lives of the trainees and trainers. All the training centres are strictly instructed to follow the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the government while delivering classroom and practical training. Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) have issues Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the same. 

The training centres should comply with measures recommended by the competent authorities to contain the spread of COVID-19. The Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) outlining the COVID appropriate norms to be followed in the training centres have been released Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT). NSDC releases noticeStandard Operating Procedures issued by MoHFW dated 1st March 2021: This SOP aims to enable safe resumption of teaching and training activities in skill or entrepreneurship training institutions, higher educational institutions conducting doctoral courses and postgraduate studies in technical and professional programs requiring laboratory or experimental work. Standard Operating Procedures issued by DOPT dated 19th March 2021: As per the revised SOP, the Central and State Training Institutes should maintain abundant caution and strictly follow the revised SOP to avoid the spread of COVID-19 during the conduction of classroom-based training. Read more…

Further, the PMKVY Training Partners are advised to close the training centres in accordance with their State Government or UT Administration notifications and seek clarification from their Local Administration in case of any confusion. The information regarding the lock or unlock of the States and UTs is regularly updated under the notice section on the Skill India Portal.
