2020 saw a significant shift in the way people were spending their time. For instance, Coursera, an online course provider, witnessed 10.3 million enrolments in 30 days and more than 5 million new user registrations during the COVID -19 lockdown due.

As many people have chosen to invest time and money in learning online, it has created a huge scope for educators to offer relevant, timely upskilling and reskilling courses. While economies will take time to recover from the pandemic, hiring is certainly back on companies’ agenda.

A major shift in recruitment we’re seeing is recruiters looking for candidates with a degree and the right skills set. The skills they’ll look for after the pandemic will change. Now, recruiters will keep an eye out for technically qualified candidates who practically match the job requirements.

2021 can be a year of never-seen-before opportunities, if you are ready to extend your network and broaden your teaching practices and student engagement.

You can blossom with the e-learning boom

People have started to recognise the benefits that e-learning brings, helping them maintain their professional edge. This trend is growing in popularity and may soon become the way that job seekers keep their knowledge or skills up-to-date.

ManPowerGroup ‘India Employment Outlook Survey’ revealed that employment trends across the country are expected to rise in the first three months of 2021. Tier 2 and 3 cities will be white-collar job market hotspots.

Some of the top skills that candidates will be hired for are:

  • Business development
  • Sales
  • Digital marketing
  • Python
  • Data structures
  • User experience
  • Data scientists
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Healthcare support roles

In addition to these skill sets, recruiters are also looking for Survival, Continuous Learning, Critical Thinking, Resilience, Curiosity, Dedication and Flexibility Skills, as per a recent Forbes article.

So, educators offering courses on all possible futuristic courses will succeed.

There is also a huge demand for skilled technical workers. The Bureau of Labor Statistics released a list of the jobs expected to grow at a faster during 2021:

  • Computer user support specialists
  • Registered nurses
  • Construction managers
  • Financial managers
  • Industrial machinery mechanics
  • Electricians
  • Nurse practitioners
  • Elementary school teachers

Now is the best timeHow to effectively promote your institute online

The education sector is slowly transitioning to focus on skills, instead of just passing on theoretical knowledge. Whether you offer technology-savvy courses or blue-collar certificate programs, you have a massive market to cater to. For you to stand out and attract more applicants here are a few suggestions:

  1. Offer engaging, interactive course content
  2. Provide latest industry information and practical experience or internships
  3. Embrace digital solutions

Why you should embrace digital solutions

When you are trying to be part of a digital world, it is logical to combine traditional practices with the latest trends, or else you will be left behind. Going digital does not stop at creating a website, having a course list and a contact us button. It is much more. Educators are utilising multiple techniques from digital marketing to data analytics, to attract potential students.

If you do not know where to start, exploring platforms like Certif-ID can be a good starting point.

For starters, the platform is built on blockchain technology. So, you can feel confident knowing that your institute and student data is safe.

On Certif-ID you can seamlessly integrate your Learning Management System and extend unmatched services to your students. As the platform is driven by skills, it allows you to list your courses and offer them to targeted learners, who are looking for them.

The platform also enables you to issue blockchain-based digital certificates remotely, using any system of your choice. You can customise the digital certificate as per your requirements, add a QR code or a link that can be used to verify its authenticity.

Digital certificates hold a lot of power and can truly set you apart as an innovative leader in the digital era. As they can instantly be verified from anyone with access, at any time, from anywhere, it reinforces your institute’s reputation. It also acts as a marketing tool when your students show it to their peers or potential employers.

The platform also offers data analytics services, that you can apply to identify patterns and trends, uncovering new revenue streams.

Furthermore, Certif-ID offers your students a SkillPass. It is a skills passport that allows your students to track their learning and showcase their profiles to a dedicated audience. Through SkillPass, your students can create a video CV, take self-assessments and get career guidance, all based on their skills. The platform provides your students global visibility and helps them connect with recruiters who are looking for their specific skill sets.

With demand so high, now is the best time to offer your upskilling courses. All you have to do is figure out which is the best way to reach your target audience and decide upon which digital tools to use, to enhance your institute experience.
