5 lakh job opportunities in 5 years for artisans created through Hunar Haat: The government of India’s craft fair Hunar Haat has provided employment opportunities to over 5 lakh artisans in the last 5 years. The Hunar Haat was launched four years back as a component of the USTTAD scheme launched on 15th May 2015. 

Inter-ministerial panel by the government to boost country’s capital goods sector: The government has set up a 22-member inter-ministerial committee to strengthen India’s Capital goods sector. The committee will look into issues including technology development, global value chains, testing, and skill training.

AICTE collaborates with Microsoft to skill students in new-age technologies: AICTE has partnered with Microsoft to empower students and educators with future-ready skills. Over 1500 course modules from Microsoft will be made available for free of cost through AICTE’s e-learning portal, ELIS.

#Journey2Salesforce upskilling program by Salesforce in India: Salesforce has launched #Journey2Salesforce upskilling program to help people start their career in the Salesforce ecosystem. This online and free program will provide mentorship and connect individuals to potential employers.

Andhra Pradesh

APSSDC partners ITDC to set-up Centre of Excellence: APSSDC has partnered with ITDC to set-up ‘Centre of Excellence’ in the state. ITDC will be responsible for designing and developing courses as well as curriculum for hospitality education and providing training to students registered with APSSDC.

SDCs to impart training in 162 courses to unemployed youth: The Skill Development Colleges in the state will provide training in 162 courses to the unemployed youths. The government has decided to set up 30 SDCs. 

Andhra Pradesh government signs MoUs for skill development: The government of Andhra Pradesh has signed four MoUs with industrial and academic institutions to provide skill training to people. This is to ensure the implementation of 75 % reservation in jobs for locals in industries. 

Jammu and Kashmir

Skill development program for cricket bats manufacturing: The youth of Jammu division will undergo skill development training program for cricket bat manufacturing. The training will be aligned with NSQF and initially will be short-term courses and subsequently the course will be upgraded to the full term NQSF course.

Karnataka

Tata Technologies collaborates with Karnataka government: Tata Technologies has partnered with Karnataka government to upgrade and modernise 150 government ITIs in the state with an investment of INR 4,600 crore. 

Meghalaya

People aged 16-18 years can use coupons to pursue any skill of their choice: People aged 16-18 years are going to use coupons to pursue any skill or hobby of their choice in the state of Meghalaya. The unique coupons would act as currency for undergoing training to upscale their skills.

Tamil Nadu

Special training for shoemakers in Tamil Nadu: TNSDC is going to provide special skill training to 2000 shoemakers in a span of three years in the state. It aims to create a trained workforce in the footwear manufacturing sector in one of the major leather belts in India-Vaniyambadi.

Telangana

Telangana signs MoU with the government of Wales: The Government of Wales and the Telangana government signed an MoU to promote research, entrepreneurship, and innovation and improving employability and skills among students in Telangana. 

Microsoft, NASSCOM to skill 30,000 youths from Telangana: Microsoft and NASSCOM will skill 30,000 youths from Telangana in AI under ‘March to Million’ initiative, for which TASK and TSCHE have partnered with the two organisations.
