India Secures 16 Medals and Medallions of Excellence at WorldSkills Lyon 2024

India made an impressive impact at WorldSkills 2024 in Lyon, France, emerging as a strong competitor on the global stage. Team India has secured 4 prestigious Bronze medals and 12 Medallions of Excellence across a variety of skill sets, showcasing their exceptional talent and dedication.

The WorldSkills competition in Lyon saw over 1,400 participants from more than 70 countries competing in various skill categories. India, competing in 52 skills against global giants such as China, Japan, Germany, and the USA, demonstrated its strength and innovation across different trades. The achievements of the Indian competitors, many of whom were on a global platform for the first time, reflect their rigorous training and the support they received from mentors and industry experts.

India’s achievements at WorldSkills 2024 underscore its diverse talent pool and growing prominence in both traditional craftsmanship and cutting-edge fields. The success of the Indian competitors, many of whom were competing on a global platform for the first time, reflects their rigorous training and the support they received from mentors and industry experts.

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), along with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and various industry partners, played a crucial role in preparing the participants. Their support included world-class training programs, mock competitions, and exposure to the latest technologies. Partnerships with organizations like Lavvone Academy, Leela Hotels, NamTech, Toyota Kirloskar, and others provided invaluable mentorship and technical expertise, ensuring that the competitors were well-prepared for the international stage.

India’s success at WorldSkills Lyon 2024 is a significant milestone in its journey towards becoming a global skills leader. The country’s achievements in both traditional and emerging skill areas not only highlight its rising global stature but also reinforce its commitment to fostering talent and innovation.
