India Aviation 2016 – Hyderabad – the 5th International Exhibition and Conference on Civil Aviation is jointly organized by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). The event is an exciting opportunity to connect with all the stakeholders in aviation skill development and training. Here’s why:
India is the 9th largest aviation market in the world with a size of around US$ 16 billion and is poised to be the 3rd biggest by 2020. India aviation industry promises huge growth potential and is gearing up to train the workforce with the constitution of the Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC) on September 12, 2014. The Telangana Academy for Skills and Knowledge (TASK) has signed an MoU with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), Asia for skill development in the aerospace domain.
- AASSC comprises HAL, Bangalore Chambers of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) and Society of Indian Aerospace Technologies & Industries (SIATI).
- The council is tasked with bridging the skill gaps to meet the growing demand for talent in the aviation adn aerospace industry and create employment opportunities and improve employability.
- Several leading aerospace companies and establishments have joined AASSC to draw up a standardized curriculum for training 400000 persons in 90 trades.
- The training programs will cater to a range of aviation professional ranging from Levels 1 and 2 workers like baggage handlers and airport drivers to Level 4 workers like engineers, scientists and technicians.
